How should I handle this?

I am a moderator on some local yahoo groups. We decided to do something to help the community. After careful consideration we decide on the local battered women's shelter. I then contacted the shelter to see what we could do to help them. I was told they needed items like used cell phones, cleaning supplies, paper products and hygiene items. So we decided to try and put boxes around the county to collect the items. I called all over the county and found 11 places willing to let us put boxes out. I then found a place that donated the boxes to us (which are sitting in my living room now). I made all the printouts for the boxes. I also had someone donate a TV to the shelter. We also wanted to do a raffle to raise a little money for them. I found a lady willing to make me a quilt for FREE. SHe will be bringing me the quilt next week. She lives in Maine and I live in North Carolina. So after all this time and work I've put into this the other moderators have now decided they don't want to do it because it is to much work. I am mad because we agreed to do this. We told the shelter we were gonna do it. THe lady has already made the quilt and is driving all the way here to bring it to me. And they now decide it is to much work???? What would ya'll do in my shoes?

goodness! i am flaring and very angry at your co-moderators. how could they leave youat this stage? they have no word of honor. if only i am living near you then i could have helped you but then we are living in opposite countries. i urge you to please continue on what you are doing because a lot have been involved already just do whatever you can do and do not force your self too much.

Thanks for your comment. I posted in one of the groups where the drop off location is and one of the mods got all upset because I was still doing it after they quit. They make me feel like I am doing something wrong. But we commited ourselves to doing it and I believe we should. I think it is a wonderful idea anyway and it will teach my children something. I sent a letter to my 3 oldest children's teachers about their classes helping and I have a meeting with the principle next week. *crosses fingers*

That makes me mad that they backed out like that, they'd be complaining if it were for them and people quit. They're such hypocrites too. If I were you, I'd try to keep it going, because it is for a good cause, you'll feel so much better once you've done it and helped out people. I know it's a lot on your shoulders, but at least you'll be able to sleep at night knowing you helped people.
