Hi freinds, when ever we look at any response of a disscussion, we find some signs at the right side of each response such as=,-,! What is the meaning of " + ", " - ", "! " rating on my lot response or post? Does it has any effect on star rating? Will it effect on daily earnings also?

Hello cen Welcome to myLot. Those symbols are + is myLotters giving you a pluse for your discussions or responses. - is myLotters giving you a minus for the same. Since you have a 9 in your star I would say you are doing pretty good with both your discussions and response. The ! opens a window to report abuse on a discussion or resonse. If you find that another member has copied and pasted someone elses discussion or is not following the guide line you report it to the officals here and thoses discussions wil be deleted.

I hope by now other mylotians have responded to your discussion topic. What is important is, before you give your comment to the response, ensure you use one of these buttons depending on the type of response you have received. Thanks and have a nice time.

"+" means that you are positively appreciating the response or the discussion. "-" means that you totally disagree and that you find the answer absurd "!" means that the response or discussion is breaking myLot rules. A window will open where you must say in what way you find the discussion against the rules (it's not using the English language, it is offensive or discriminatory, it has no rational meaning, etc...) The effect on star rating is, of what I know, immediate. The more "+" you get, the greater the star rating. I'm not sure if it affects the daily earning. It's possible, but it won't affect it much.

Hi Mahesh! The signs given on the right '+' and '-' are meant for rating the quality of a post or response. We give a '+' rating if we like or appreciate or agree and give a negative or '-' rating when we have a disagreement or dislike about a discussion or response. The sign '!' is to report abuse or misuse or violation of rules of mylot. These signs definitely do affect your star rating but do not affect your earnings here. You have got a red star which denotes that the quality of your postings and responses are good and that you are appreciated by a majority of people here. Congratulations on your good work.

The (+) means positive. The (-) means negative. The (!) means to report violation. Here on mylot we rate other members on the quality and content of discussions. This effects the star next to your username.

Hi, I won't repeat the same information about the ratings that others have provided but can add a little more about the importance of rating each topic and discussion on any site we visit. When they are left open then they are fair game for members who may have an agenda against others. When ratings are maintained by members on our own sites we give each other a plus for taking the time to contribute. To me not caring enough to take a moment and rate members seems rather rude...but that is just my perspective. I posted a discussion a week ago asking that each and every member make it a priority to give each other a plus when it is warranted. For me is serves another valuable purpose...it allows me to scroll down my discussions and make sure I didn't miss a response...and therefore a chance to comment on it. My first priority before adding any comments to respondents is to give them a plus. I have not had any occasion to rate a negative so far...nor have I had to report abuses. In my view responsible membership involves saying thank you to members by rating a plus on all comments...and images too. Many members take the time to include images after they reach the 500 club and in many cases no one bothers to add a plus and let them know that we appreciate them taking the extra time to do it. Within my 4 month membership here I have been touched by the warmth, openness and welcoming attitude of all members I have chatted with. To me keeping ratings current is a small token of our appreciation and acknowledgment for the good job everyone does here. So anyway...that is just another perspective on the ratings discussion...hope it assists you in making up your mind about how you are going to approach it for yourself. Cheers and happy Mylotting! Raia

Thank you very much for posting this question. I have learned from your responders. Now, I have to give you a +, I hope I'll find where to do that. Thanks again :)
