I love good old fashioned egg noodles. I make them from scratch. I love to make chicken noodles or beef and noodles from them. If I buy boxed pasta I prefer penne shaped noodles.

Based on your post alone, lightningMd, would it be a reasonable bet that you're fond of cooking? By the way, where are penne shaped noodles available? What kind of pasta do you normally make out of such? Thanks a lot! ;)

Good thing there are "a lot of japanese restaurants" in your place, shiloh_222, since you could perhaps very easily buy a yummy Japanese ramen anytime. You are really quite fortunate as well because you could equally easily buy a basil pesto when you're craving for it, since you could simply visit "mark's oriental salad." I must say that, though I haven't tried Japanese ramen and basil pesto yet, based on your hunger-inducing post alone, I am beginning to like it already. Before I forget, where is "mark's oriental salad" located? I would perhaps visit it pretty soon so that I could finally try out their delicious basil pesto. Thanks a lot! ;)

i love ramen because it's quite different from the local instant noodles available in the market. the taste is really delicious...yum! im getting hungry now... and basil pesto is a combination of healthy stuff: basil leaves, olive oil, pine nuts... love the parmesan on it... well, i buy the basil pesto in a local restaurant where they served scrumptious food, a mark's oriental salad.. delish... ramen is an imported product from japan, available in the supermarket though there are alot of japanese restaurants here too... how bout you? do you like these too?

Hello! I love eating noodles. It's one of the food that I can't say no to and in Philippines it is always part of every meal especially during birthdays...for long life! *hehehe* they say. Anyway, I like the all time favorite pancit canton, and it's one of my speciality dish..LOL! I love my mother's sotanghon guisado...the best for me. In our fave chinese restaurant, I like their Crispy fried noodles and their Pan fry noodles. Ohh..you're making me hungry, thank God I just had my dinner...not noodles though! *hehe* ciao! c",)

Since I would really want to try out the Crispy fried noodles and Pan fry noodles you're talking about, may I know what your "fave chinese restaurant" is? If I may, could you kindly tell me what's it and where I could find it? I must agree that sotanghon guisado is certainly one of the best noodles around. I especially like it with pepper to essentially spice it up. Typing my response alone is already making me as hungry as you are, fab315. Happy myLotting! ;)

I'm here in Bahrain, my fave chinese restaurant here is called Beijing. The Crispy Fried noodles and the Pan Fry looks the same but differ in taste. The noodles that they used is like the one in pancit canton, but the ingredients and the taste are different. SOme uses soy sauce when cooking pancit canton, some oyster sauce, I use oyster sauce. I don't really know what the sauce they used in the crispy fried noodles and pan fry, I would love to know and try cooking it one day. *hehe* BTW, when they serve the crispy fried and pan fry noodles, they serve it dry, like the noodles are dry and they put the sauce and the ingredient on top and you mix it all together..it's something different from the noodles we always have in Philippines. But still I can say, nothing compares to my mother's sotanghon guisado and bihon guisado! LOL!! ciao! c",)

Need not apologize for anything, luzhuniu_520--no harm done. When you say, "It has a not very long history, just about 100 years," what exactly are you talking about? Henan, "Lan Zhou La Mian," and "zha jiang mian" really seem to be very delicious noodles indeed. Sadly, though, I feel that I would not have the chance to have a taste of such noodles as of yet because I neither see myself visiting Korea nor China anytime soon. Be that as it may, thanks a lot for the clarification and for your interestingly informative comment! Happy myLoting! ;)

I am very sorry that I used a wrong word here.It is "boiled noodles".It has a not very long history, just about 100 years.Henan boiled noodle is the most famous in China. "Lan Zhou La Mian" is also very famous in china, I saw the friend dounstairs said it.Lan Zhou is a province in China.I am sure you can not eat it unless you come to China. As to say "zha jiang mian", it is also available in Korea. When I saw Korean soup,I found almost every pepole likes it.Maybe there is something different between the noodles in China and Korea,I am not very sure.Thank you.

You sure are a noodle enthusiast, mimpi1911. Could you give us an idea of what this "gravy noodles" exactly is, though? Your mother normally prepares what kinds of "mouth smacking noodles" at home? When you dine out, on the other hand, what noodle house do you usually frequent, if there is one, and what kinds of noodles do you typically order there, if any? Thanks a lot and Happy myLotting! ;)

i love fettucini and lasagna so much. these noodles are easily available in the superstores. so no worry at all about procuring them. i prefer homecooked foods over those that i can avail of somewhere else. thus, at most times, we do the cooking at home. it is either i do the cooking or anyone of my kids will take a hand at the kitchen.

I could not agree more that fettucini and lasagna are lovable noodles, trindad. You must definitely be very lucky to have kids who could easily "take a hand at the kitchen," when you could not do the cooking. I could really only hope that, even in dreams, I could have a taste of your personally cooked specials. lol... Happy myLotting and thanks to your highly relevant post! ;)

You can buy fried noodle everywhere in Indonesia, from big restaurant to hawker stalls. The noodle is made of egg noodle and we have a lot of varieties fried noodles; spicy, with sea food, with chicken or vegetarian. I like the spicy, especially and usually order this one.

Do you agree that Lucky Me offers the cheapest and tastiest Pancit Canton in the country? That Japanese noodle soup seems to really be very enticing, ggaaiill. However, what exactly is it called? I ask this because there may be numerous kinds of Japanese noodle soup to choose from, apart from the one you're specifically talking about. Moreover, precisely where in Japan is this particular Japanese instant noodle soup available? Thanks in advance for the clarification! Happy myLotting! ;)

When you say, "i will like it because i like the taste of garlic," are you saying that you like spaghetti because it has garlic? If that's the case, that's really something new for me, since i do not normally put garlic on my spaghetti. Now that you mentioned it, though, I may perhaps try it out myself so that I would know why you like it. Thanks for your meaningful post, buliangxianren! Happy myLotting! ;)

i like lots and lots of kinds :) but my all time favorite is pancit canton :D may it be the real thing cooked from scratch or the instant ones you buy on the pack (lucky me rules! lol) but sometimes when we dont have any instant noodles, i usually make an incomplete version of putanesca sauce (skip the olives and capers and sometimes the tuna flakes) then have them with the spaghetti nooodles :D or sometimes aligue pasta is good too : and i like crispy noodles too lol and of course, pancit malabon (especially when they have those crispy chicharon with a little bit of fat in it! yum yums!) :D

Thanks alot for making me hungry!! LOL... I love pancit & miki. I think that's how you spell miki (??). It's the one with the quail eggs, coconut milk, etc. Pancit, I can get from my brother cause he's an excellent cook but he hasn't been cooking much since his accident=( His wife makes miki once in awhile. I also love to eat saimin but not the ramen noodle stuff that's all dried up in a bag. I like the kind that's made with fresh noodles & stuff like yakitori, teriyaki, char siu, etc. on the top. I am sooo hungry now!! LOL
