When will the first human walk on mars? is it in the making at all or are we too binded by our own problems?

Well I don't believe people will be on Mars anytime soon but I bet probably within the next 30-50 years probably, we'll see the first person land on Mars. I know NASA is working on a whole mission to Mars project trying to develop better shuttles and living capsules but right now I can't see it happening soon. It would be amazing if just saying boom next week NASA announces it launching a shuttle to Mars that would be crazy. I just hope I live long enough to see the first person get there and send back some good pictures.

I dont know when we will be able to actually go to mars. I hear about it all the time that we should explore mars someday. But My question is why dont they just plan on going to mars instead of just talking about it. But I understand its very hard because of all the storms that go to mars and it takes about 8 months to a year to get there now thats a lot for someone to be gone from 2 years. But I think we will go to mars hopefully with in the next 10 years.

The space shuttle program (in the US) is set to come to an end in 2010. Last I heard, the new space transport vehicle to replace the shuttle - which is still in the making - is designed to go back to the moon. It will probably be a good ten to fifteen years before any missions to Mars are planned.

I am interested in astronomy very much. It is one of the subjects that I like most after chemistry, of course. I've read a report about landing on Mars. It was written that it will happen most probably in 2009. I don't know if it is true or not. We'll see (if we are alive) But I think that if it is not in 2009 it will happen in the next 10 years.

NASA and European Space Agency both claim sometime in the 2030s. I've heard 2035 and 2037.
