Have you ever been in the middle of a recipe and discovered you are out of a particular ingredient? Most people who love to bake have probably had this frustrating experience! You can make emergency substitutions: 1 cup cake flour = 1 cup minus 2Tbs all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder = 1/4 tsp baking soda + 1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk (replace 1/2 C of liquid called for in recipe) 1 C honey = 1-1/4 C granulated sugar + 1/4 C liquid 1 C corn syrup = 1 C granulated sugar + 1/4 C liquid 1 C sour milk or buttermilk = 1 Tbs lemon juice + enough milk to make 1 C 1 C buttermilk = 1 C plain yogurt 1 ounce unsweetened bakig chocolate = 3 Tbs unsweetened cocoa mix + 1 Tbs butter or margarine Can you add to the list?
