I know we're all used to the name we were given but I have always hated my first name...Elizabeth. For some reason from the day I was born my whole family called me by my middle name...Linda and that's probably why. I never got used to my real first name or some nickname of it. Of course for anything legal I'm referred to Elizabeth and I cringe when I hear it but I'm getting used to it. I don't like Liz at all and I'm using Beth at my new job...that I don't mind so much but sometimes forget they are talking to me...lol... My oldest daughter is named Rhonda after the Beach Boys song "Help Me Rhonda" and she hates it. She says the first time she's introduced to someone they immediately start singing the song..lol....I actually like the name and I wouldn't mind having it!If you could have any first name what would it be? Do you have a favorite name that you named your kids if you have them? If you don't have any do you already know what their names will be?

Hello there. I love my First name and Last name. My first name sounds nice and my Last name is unique. I think we should learn to love our names as our parents took great pains to give birth to us and name us. =D

I was named after my two grandmothers who just happened to have the same name. I don't think my parents put much thought inot it. One of my aunts gave me the second nAme.

I actually like Elizabeth. I like those old names, they have a very regal sound. Hearing those names I always imagine very beautiful, tall, intelligent women. I wouldn't mind if my name evoked images like that =) My name is Desirée and I love it. Its translation is 'the desired one' or, perhaps a better translation, 'the awaited one'. My parents named me after Desirée Bernadotte, the first fincée of Napoleon Bonaparte, who has later become the swedish queen. She was a very strong woman and my parents wanted me to become like her. So I've never wanted any other name, but I've thought about names for children (we don't have any yet). For a girl I like Aida after the Nubian princess in Verdi's opera. I also like Claire. For a boy I like Noah and Luca.

Don't get me started about my name, ctry! All of my life I have had a love/hate relationship with my name. When I was growing up I began to hate it for the simple reason that it was unlike any of the other kids names that I knew. Add to the mix that nobody could pronounce it correctly, and I would always feel like I stood out because of that fact. I did, however, learn to live with it as I got older. By the time I finally matured I learned to love it because it was different. I was deeply honored when my oldest daughter told me that she had named her baby daughter after me.

Vanessa is a beatiful name and I think it's one of the "old fashioned ones". Years ago it was a popular name and I would like to see it come back.

Isabella, I always love that name and I want to name my child that if I have one. I like my name but people confuse Teri for a boy name so I get alot your a girl when they see me. Also there is way too many ways to spell my name I am always having to correct it and it is annoying

I always loved my name and I never thought of changing it. My name is Gabrielle. I like it and everyone else around me like it even if almost everyone called me Gaby. I don,t have any children for themoment (but I'M 3 month pregnant) so I don,t hvae any name. I always loved the name Tamika for a girl. I heard that name in a Immature song. But right now, the name I would give to a girl would be Alexia.

actually I am fine with my name right now..maria beatrice..just can say that I got used to it. But it was very different when I was a child or a young girl because I hated having two names and I wished I had a simpler name, one you cannot turn into strange nicknames!!! Now I feel I am maria beatrice or maribea or beatrice, not maria anymore..but my favourite name is still Rebecca..the name I was giving to my daughter in each game I invented!!!I also love Ginevra very much!..so maybe I would be called Rebecca if it were my choice..Now I am in love with..Elisa, too..my mother's name!!!

My first name is a Chinese name, since I am a Chinese. In my official birth certificate, I've not had a Christian name, but when I was young, my sister gave us all Christian names, and mine was Victor. I've been using this name since, but only some of my relatives and friends know me by this name. I'm not really particular, and neither like nor dislike the name. It's fine for me, I guess. But for official things, I apply my Chinese name, since that is what is on my official birth document and identity card.

Elizabeth is a beautiful name IMO. ;-D Well, there was a period of time in my childhood when I disliked my first name: Amelia 'coz in Indo there was this children song with my name in it...so sometimes people would sing it, too. However, other than that I don't think I'll change my name 'coz I like my name. One thing I'd want to add, though, is my husband's last name, but since he's Finnish whereas I'm Indonesian, I have to do some paperwork first before I can do that...I don't like bureaucracy, so I'll just wait till I become a Finnish citizen, then I'll add my husband's last name to my name. ;-D

Hey, I understand because I also hate it when people call me by my first name. In school, students don’t call me by my first name because if they do, I would correct them right then and then to just call me by my middle name. Including my teachers :), believe me. so like if someone from school would like to irritate me, they know what to do, just by calling me by my first name. hehe… My family calls me another nickname.

I don't hate my name but I just think it's a little dull. My favourite name is Natasha which is what I called my daughter. I guess that would probably have been my choice although there is a lot of names I like. I've always liked Melissa - I think I would have made a good Melissa lol!

I used to think I wanted to change mine but now I'm glad to have mine. It suits me and plus my Mom named me so that's good enough for me. She named me Tina after the actress Tina Louise who played the movie star Ginger on Gilligan's Island LOL **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
