I beleive it was last night when I responded to a discussion titled MOM.... YOU FORGOT ME! It was about forgeting to get your child from the bus stop. I responded about the rules for my district about that and how missing my daughters bus when it is dropping her off was my BIGGEST FEAR! Well guess what I did today? Yup went down to her bus stop at the normal drop off time totally spacing about the fact that today was Wednsday and they get out early on Wednsday. Well I headed back up the HUGE hill to get my hubby and go and pick her up at her school. OMG I Cant beleive I did that!!! I even said to my hubby after I responded to the discussion man watch now its gonna happen, now that I said it! And what do you know it did! Thankfully my daughter was too scared she was a little worried because when the school called home they didnt get in touch with me, and I totally forgot to grab the cell because I was running out the door after grabbing the car keys! It was crazy but we got thru it.

My son catches the bus home from school too (he is five) and yesterday when he got off, two other kids in the next building down, their babysitter had not arrived to pick them up. I know who she is as I see her at the bus stop all the time. I don't know her personally but I waited when the two kids stepped off and I noticed she wasn't there. We waited a bit and the bus driver did too, and then when she didn't arrive, she took the two kids back to school. I was going to offer to take them but they don't really know me and I don't really know them (have only seen them from time to time). I felt sorry for them and thought it would be horrible if I ever left my son at the bus stop. He would know how to get home because its just around the corner, but still, the thought of no-one meeting him would be upsetting I'm sure. I noticed today that the babysitter was early at the bus stop. I'm sure the kids parents was not happy about that.

My duaghters 5 too! They wont let the kindergardeners off the bus here unless theres someone there to get them it has to be someone the bus driver knows (from them picking the child up everyday) or the person has to know your kids ID number, in order for the child to be released to you. I have to get my friends twins the other day and she called me at the last minute and gave me the 2 numbers and I had to go to there bus stop, its the stop before my daughters and I got their #'s all mixed up thankfully the bus driver knew me and that I knew the boys and let them come with me and let my daughter off at that stop even thought she wasnt suppost to but it was a emergency!

My bus driver is soooo unpredictable. One day I'll start walking at 4 and be waiting 10 minutes, other days I leave the house at 4 and they're there! It's a good thing it's really close. Yesterday I was a bit late getting to the karate school to pick up my son. I asked him if he was worried when I wasn't there when his class was over. He told me "I was a little worried because I don't know the way home". lol we had a chat about how if I'm ever not there after he changes to call me! It would be a really long walk home.

Our bus drivers are always on time if anything they are early! But then they will wait until the time they are suppost to be there and a few minutes longer. But see on Wednsday's they get out about 20 minutes or so earlier for CPT days. (classroom planning time) which is used instead of having alot of teachers work days where the students dont go to school. But I still cant beleive I messed up!

That sounds like a good idea for the teachers. They sent home a questionnaire about that last year but I guess nothing came of it because they aren't doing it.... I bet that won't happen again though. ;)
