Sometimes things parents do Shock and Annoy me!!!

i have so many pet peeves when it comes to seeing other people parenting for instance when someone carry's a baby and not just a baby i mean barely out of the hospital baby in their arms around the store in a football position a child especially one at that age should be cuddled and swaddled not thrown under your arm
but recently i saw something while out and about running my errands that totally aggervated me. i saw a mother putting her not more than a month old baby in a sitting up toddler booster with the regular car seatbelts for strapping in and then propping him/her up with blankets to help them actually sit up in the seat i was APPALLED, if your not going to make your child your Number 1 priority as well as their safe then WHY HAVE KIDS??? when it comes to kids and their safety and well being i tend to get a littel over worked because being a mother isnt something i take for granted its a privelage im blessed and honor to have, and i get annoyed when i see others taking it for granted !!!

Wow that is just not right. And you know if that person was so hard up that they couldn't afford to get a proper car seat for an infant - there are so many non-profit and other agencies that can help low income people get the right equipment. Even some of the fire departments give stuff like that away to keep kids safe. I can't believe they would take that kind of chance. I just don't get people sometimes.

DEFINTELY there are so many agencies out there to help out parents in need especially when it comes to baby/child safety. im not sure what her story is or why she wasn't using the appropiate carseat but regardless of what her situtaion was i would stay home if i couldnt guarantee my childs safety.

That is just insane. IF she has a car wreck that poor baby would probably be killed in a heart beat. What the heck are parents thinking these days. Had it been me I would have walked up to her and asked her to escort me into the store where I would have bought her an INFANT car seat and told her by ALL MEANS USE IT!

Your right buying her a carseat and pointing out how srong she was shoudl of been what i did but i was in such shock i was numb from the stupidty i was seeing that i didnt know what to do at the moment i would of defintely did things differently if i was able to stop and think rather than freeze in annoyance thanks for your input

That is horrible. I would have called the cops. They will come out for something like that. She proudly would have only gotten a ticket but at least it would hopefully make her think twice about it. There is no excuse for it. You can get cheap used car seats at god will. Plus they don't even let you leave the hospital with out a proper car seat so why would this even happen?

I dont know and yoru right the hospital makes sure you have a carseat and its been inspected before hand , who knows maybe she was borrowing someone's car or hers was dirty either way whatever the reason is for her using the wrong carseat was inexcusable and your right i should of called the cops i was just shocked at the mere fact that she was being so careless thank you for your input

Yes, even I have seen this in many parents. First time parents at least I can understand but parents with kids are also so careless with their babies, I just cant understand why. I think some people feel that a child should be allowed to grow up without too much of cuddling and protection so they become tough in life. While that’s an absolutely stupid line of thought, you cant make these people see sense coz as you can understand…they are basically stupid!

that reminds me of something. i knew someone who used to put her baby in the back seat with a seatbelt only, no car seat at all. from birth. i first found out and saw it when the baby was about 6 months. i couldn't beleive it.

That basically what this women did except she used a toddler booster adn blankets for head support but either way is wrong and neglectful a baby/child no matter what age needs to be in the appropiate seat and i cant see why anyone would do otherwise!

I ten to think of my self as #1 and my kids as #2 for the simple fact that if I dont care for my self and my own safty who will be there to care for my kids and my kids safty that is not to say that if introduced to a situation That I would ever hessitate to give my life to save my childrens becuase I would but it is to say that if I worried about everyone eses children in the process I would probly have a mental break down.
An old proverb says"One should raise themselfs before raising a family and one should raise a family before raising a community and one should raise a community before raising a state and one should raise a state before raising a nation and so on" you get the idea
