I am a breeder of dogs and have never tried out this raw food diet for dogs. I just cant allow my dogs to feast on Raw meat though I have seen apparent healthy dogs in Markets living on raw food diet. But is it advisable ? I think personally Its better to stick to old Cooked diet unless there are any specific scientific declaration from an authentic agency free of any vested interests certifying the benefits of A raw food dog diet I would prefer to stick on to my old cooked diet. What do you say friends? any suggestions?

Hi!Well i give my small pomerarian little ceasers dry and the small wet dog food. But i also give her ONCE in a while cubed stew meat as a special treat, she loves it besides all the raw vegetables too.lol.Especially carrots and potatoes.I dont give her the raw meat often though.I think its an old saying that goes like this,if you feed your dog raw meat alot,it will turn aggressive on you because of the raw meat taste and the new taste of blood on it.I dont know if its true or if it has a truth behind it all,but i dont like the idea of it either, lol.I wouldnt recommend it alot, but sometimes as an extra vitamin source that raw meat gives.Thats just my thought though. She eats alot of salads and vegetables, but i never cooked them for her or cooked anything for her at all.I like my vegies raw and not cooked sometimes,so i think its better for them, plus the vets and the books and some breeders said its very good for them.Cooked rice is also great with a broth added in as extra moisture.Ive never had a problem and shes fit as a fiddle on all her checkups and the teeth are white as snow.(i brush her teeth,ha,ha). They are not here for along time on earth so i try to give her the best and for her not to become sick and bored of the same ol same ol.:)

Well experimenting with your pets food is fine exactly its fine for us to experiment a bit. But I don't support the idea that a dog becomes more aggressive if they get to eat raw meat.

Yes thats what i thought exactly too. Some people just dont know that dogs are from the carnivore family and always have ate raw meat to survive. They just want to believe this so called"old saying"LOL.Wolfs,coyotes,foxes,etc.I just thought they were too paranoid with this thing and thought that their dog would turn on them.Dogs dont turn on someone because of raw meat, its because of pain, torture they feel and just had enough of stuff.:):)

Raw food is no good for a dog. The meat has bacteria and needs to be cooked before feeding it to the dog.

I guess domesticated dogs which we find nowadays are no more the wild dogs that they used to be generations ago, exactly how raw meat would trouble human being, it would exactly the same way trouble the dog also. If we can remember even human being were raw meat eaters but due to changes in our environment we adopted to cooked food so did the dogs. I guess even if it is marginally better to feed raw food for someone I would always prefer cooked food than raw food. You can also see some of my articles in this regard in this URL http://www.indipets.com/products

My dog has been strictly raw food diet for about 6 months, and it's the best thing we've ever done for her! She's just a mutt, so it's not like she anything other than a pet for us, but we do care about her. For the past couple years she's had constant yeast infections, her ears were in horrible shape, always licking at her paws until the bled. She was on prednizone and antiboitice for months when someone told me about raw diets. We switched and never looked back. Her coat is much smoother, shinier, no more skin issues, it's GREAT!!! Now, it's VERY expensive, but it sure is worth it!!! BTW, cooked food isn't really good for people, so you know cooked food isn't good for other animals... Raw food of any kind has much more nutrients in it - even for us!!!

Sounds interesting But am not convinced as yet. I would need more testimonials on the subject..

I feed our dogs raw meat every other day. In our area, what we buy are the trimmings from the meat shop, its called "sawdust" and we mix it with some dog food and cooked rice. In a span of 5 months, our dogs bulked up and their coats smoothened. With daily exercise, our dogs looked really in shape. Yes, there are no certifications that raw meat diet is good for dogs but there aren't any news or certifications that says its bad for them either.

Ok. I will wait for some more time then after again getting a positive feedback i would seriously start to think about it.
