A few weeks ago I bought an herbal body detox kit. Colon cleanse, kidney cleanse, the whole 9. I did it for the two weeks and I felt really good! Here's the issue, I stopped a week ago, life has been hectic, I'm still eating a lot of ruits and veggies, but also some junk, and my stomach hurts all the time! Have any of you been through this? should I go see a doctor?

If it still hurts by this time, you really have to go see your doctor. Are you drinking enough water? A lot of the colon cleanser powders can form a really thick sludge and clog you up if you are not drinking enough water. The pain can also be from the gas that can form in your system if you are allergic to some ingredients in the powder portion of your colon cleanse kit. I did a colon cleanse about five years ago and found out I was allergic to psyllium. Anyway, the best thing to do is go to your doctor. If there is a naturopathic doctor, that may be an even better alternative. Hope you're feeling better now, SM!

Thanks sea. I do feel alot better. The problem was that I stuck to this "diet" along with the detox kit and then I cheated when it was done and ate a lot of stuff I shouldn't have. Sounds ignorant on my part, but I guess I never looked at this as a whole "lifestyle" change.

I followed the package directions down to the letter. This one is two weeks every 4 months. All I know is that now that I am close to being back to my usual eating habits I feel like garbage.

I know this is a old discussion but I was wondering if you would reccommend a colon cleanse I have heard of alot of different ones and even have a whole bunch of different ones in my bulk mail but they are so many to choose from and I want one that will really work. And I need to know about the cost of one. Do you still do them like it said every 4 months for 2 weeks?

I would go to the doctor if you are in pain all the time- I have never done any kind of detox- although I have thought about it – with all the crap that goes into my body! I’d call the doctor anyways and tell them what you did—and see what they have to say about it- I wouldn’t do that detox again!

I think you should see one when the symptoms gets worse than what you are experiencing right now. Hope everything would be fine.

I'd be a bit leery of those things because they can do a lot of good as well as a lot of damage to the body. Herbs are a form of medicine and should be really respected. I'd see a doctor just to see what he has to say about it.
