Lunch today

I had an education conference today. They served us lunch. We had a wonderful buffet from a catering company in Little Rock, Arkansas called "Kitchen Express" They brought us slices of roast beef, that was so tender you could cut it with a fork and chicken pieces that were baked after being seasoned with a spicy glaze. Sides were green beans with cubes of potato cooked in, homemade-baked macaroni and cheese, seasoned rice and salad. There were yummy rolls that were so sweet and flaky, that they almost tasted like a dessert. Definately homemade with yeast! Dessert was our choice of buttery pound cake or a delicious banana pudding with huges slices of real bananas, whipped cream and a crunchy topping made from crushed vanilla wafers. So what did YOU have for lunch?

What's lunch? For that matter, what's breakfast? I just didn't get to eat until evening. I did have some slices of raisin bread. Does that count?

A loaf of raisin bread - A loaf of raisin bread straight from the oven
I will let you have your raisin bread dear friend. That is one thing that I just can't make myself eat. Actually, I don't really like anything with raisins in it. It doesn't make much sense, because I like grapes. Just not raisins.! My kids love raisin bread, and cinnamon rolls with raisins.

I hear ya. I don't normally eat raisins, but that day it just sounded like what I wanted. I avoid grapes most of the time because they give me headaches, but I guess I've not had enough lately to bother me, because the raisins didn't this time. I'm glad, since I just didn't want the cinnamon swirl that day.

Love cinnamon swirl bread. The bakery that my son used to work for had the best that I've ever eaten. Now, nothing tastes good because I'm so addicted to Jim's bread. I miss James working at the Old Mill because I never had to buy store bread. I got it fresh every single day.

Lunch you say? That sounds like an elaborate dinner! I can't remember what I had for lunch 4 days ago but yesterday, hubby and I stopped at Sirloin Stockade and they have a fruit & salad bar like I have never seen! I especially liked this carrot & raisin stuff they put out there. I wish I knew how to make it.

Somewhere at home, I have my grandmother's recipe for carrot and raisin salad that is out of this world. Except, I pick all the raisins out and give them to Isabella, my niece. i like the flavor they give the salad, but I don't like the actual raisins. Izzy loves them, but won't eat the carrots. We make a good team. lol

I didn't really eat lunch because I had a migraine and was very nauseated. I did drink a Coke because it is a nausea aid that has worked in the past. But the Coke was sure good!
