I am from Las Piñas City, Philippines....my hometown is the home of Bamboo Organ....it is the only organ in the world that is made of bamboo....Father Diego Cerra started its construction in 1816 and completed it in 1824....you can still hear it play on days of worship being held at our parochial church in Las Piñas and yearly at the celebration of the International Bamboo Organ Festival held on the month of February.

hi, janerodrigue. I am from Weifang of China. Weifang is famous for the kites, and It is called 'the hometown of kites'. when I was a child, I went to fly a kite with my playmates after finishing my homeword on warm spring dawns. The sofe spring wind, the cherubic laughter, the flying colorful kites in the blue sky... how beautiful! How I wish, how I wish I can go back to my childhood!

I am from a small town Taiping in the state of Perak in Malaysia. It experiences the heaviest rainfalls in the peninsular as it is situated at the foot hill of the bintang range. We get cold and clean water from the hill nearby. There is a famous recreational garden with several small lakes in it. There is also a zoo in the lake gardens. It has long been a hot tourist spot in my country.

I am originally from New Orleans... and most people are aware (at least to an extent) what that city is famous for... their food, traditions, history, culture, etc. I'd probably be here all day if you asked me to go into detail! I will say, however, that contrary to popular belief, there is nothing "Southern" about New Orleans' culture! N'Awlins has more in common with New York (culture-wise) than it does the South. I have lived outside of Raleigh, North Carolina for most of my life, however. First of all, it's NC's capital... The area is home to Research Triangle Park (RTP), the largest research park in the world. It's also the hometown of Clay Aiken(!), and the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team who I believe won the Stanley Cup fairly recently (I think it was last year). Those are the few things that come to my mind (that would ring a bell with people who aren't familiar with the area, that is). There are other "claims to fame..." but I think most of them are things you might have to have either have lived here or have done your research to realize their significance. It's not exotic like New Orleans or some of the hometowns some other people have listed here! North Carolina (not singling out any one city or town) has many claims to fame - the Biltmore House, America's tallest light house (Cape Hatteras), the world's first airplane flight was accomplished by the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, and there are many war (mostly related to the Civil and Revolutionary wars)-related memorials and landmarks. We're also the home of Pepsi, Krispy Kreame doughnuts, and famous for our BBQ, our fried chicken, and Brunswick stew and food of that nature. Those are probably the most obvious things...

Hi! Yes it's true whenever i'm watching Food Network and they're featuring New Orleans, i feel like i'm salivating for N. Orleans food! LOL....I thought that it is actually "Southern" there (though i love southern regions/parts due to it's homey appeal)....thank you very much for enlightening me. Thank you also for posting a response for this is also nice way to learn of other places and their people. Thank you for sharing. :)

I am from shaoxing, China. My hometown is a famous tourist attraction in China because of it's abundant cultural heritage. The city has a history of over 2000 years and once had been a capital of the country. In modern times,Premier Zhou and the eminent writer Luxun had been lived here for a long time. I feel very proud of it.

I am from Yuma, Arizona. We are famous for the very first prison penitentiary for the Arizona territory (before it became a state) On July 1, 1876 the first inmates arrived. in fact that new western movie out called "3:10 to Yuma" is about bringing the criminal to the Yuma Territorial Prison! which is pretty neat in my opinion. we are also the Lettuce Capital of the world...i have no clue why..i know we grow a lot of lettuce and have a yearly festival, i dont know what the actual volume of lettuce we grow is either. and add to that the fact that we are in the desert LOL!!! but thats what the city officials say anyways!
