The number in parantheses beside your name is your rating which shows the level of your activity on myLot. For example, a user with a rating of 1,500 has been more active on myLot than a user with a rating of 500. The rating really tells you nothing about the quality of your activity or how you are perceived by the myLot community. You will notice later that this number goes down as it happens to anyone. You will see this quite often in myLot. This usually happens when a discussion, response, or comment that you started, replied to, or commented on has been deleted. The best way to avoid this is to understand our guidelines and terms and not create or reply to discussions that are in violation. This discussion is well-explained by mylot in their FAQs- http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx#1
