My 4 year old and 2 year old have started bowling on the pee wee bumper league. They absolutely love it. Last week they did the best of all the pee-wees
(who are mostly 4-5 years old). My 2 year old bowled a 94 and got one spare and one strike. My 4 year old also got a spare and a strike and bowled a 107! His third time bowling ever and he earns his 100 series patch...that's a BIG deal for bumpers!
All the other kids bowled too at this age and did get bowler of the month awards and occasional high score awards (my oldest son also got Bowler of the Year for his age group) but none of them ever did quite this good. And the best part is how much fun they are having there. They go again tomorrow and I can't wait!

I bet your kids look so cute bowling and it sounds like they had a wonderful time. It is wonderful seeing young children bowling and having fun and playing with the other kids. I did not learn how to bowl til I was in high school so I never used bumpers. Those are very good scores and maybe they will become pro bowlers someday.

They are adorable except we haven't been able to go in a few weeks :( The first week the 2 1/2 year old was too sick and we didn't want to upset him by leaving him at home...he's the one that will wake up and go straight to try to put his shoes on over his pajamas on bowling mornings! last week I was at the hospital with the sick baby and the car so my s/o couldn't take them and yesterday he had to work which meant I didn't have the car to take them bowling. His oldest son was supposed to drive us there but forgot and spent the weekend at his mom's instead.

Foxy,Bowling is a great recreation and sport and sounds like your kids are having a blast with it.
I've been involved with Ten Pin and Candle Pin Bowling at various times throughout my life since about the age of eight when it was first introduced to me by my parents.
I have since involved my son in the game and he loves it as well.
It's one of those fun recreations to do on a rainy Saturday afternoons with the kids.

I have never heard of candle bowling but I'm not into owling much myself either, I just love to watch the kids.
What I think is really great about the kids leagues is that even though they are on teams and competing against each other, it isn't done so obviously that there is actual "competition" between the teams. Even my two boys are on "opposing" teams but it's all in fun and everyone cheers for everybody no matter what team they are on or who is "winning". It's really great considering how other childrens' sports have been going.

I bet they look so cute out there doing it, too! My son is 7 1/2 and has only been bowling a few times. He loved it though. I think he was around 3 the first time he went. It is so funny to see them up there rolling the ball. They got some pretty good scores too. I am glad they had fun and that you had fun watching them.
