Licenses for cats that are strictly indoor cats? Ridiculous!

My town government is crazy!! It requires a pet owners to get their cats licensed, whether the cats are indoor cats or not. Since I never have and never will allow my cats to roam the streets, I shouldn't have to pay fees for "licenses." Puh-leeze! Requiring house cats to be licensed is just a scam to get more money from taxpayers. Do you agree? Does your city or town require licenses for cats?

Money, Money, Money! My city doesn't require this as yet, but I'm sure they will. We have to pay for everything else and I'd like to know what we get in return. All I see here is no jobs available, run-down streets with no repair (Don't buy a new car, it'll fall apart soon from the holes in the streets), houses falling apart because the taxes are always going up and nobody can afford to fix them anymore,...all this crap and then they want more. I also have an INDOOR cat, she has NEVER been outside and doesn't even bother going near the door. And I'm going to need a license for that???????......oh boy, I hope not. I've had it up to here already with all this paying out and nothing coming in. Stupid law if you ask me.

Sounds like a government scam to me. I don't know if my city requires it or not, I have never looked and no one has every told me to license my two indoor kitties.

Our cat is strictly indoor and she's not licensed although she has had rabies shots. I've never heard of licensing indoor animals. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Here in Denver, all cats are supposed to have a license. Many of mine don't. Yeah, I believe that it is merely another way to get money out of people--much like pet rent that certain landlords charge. Here a lack of a license is not an issue unless the cops come to your house looking for an excuse to give you a ticket, which does not happen to those of us who behave ourselves.

I do agree that it's a way to raise even more money for the taxpayers. With that being said, I think too that they want to keep track of pets with rabies vaccinations. In my town when you license your pet you need to provide its rabies vaccine. In that scenario, I agree because household pets especially dogs have been known to bite children, etc. In any event, they are always trying to get more money!!
