Why Do Smokers Get So Many Breaks?

Is it just me or did my co-worker just get back from lunch and she's already stepping out to take a 5-10 minute smoke break. Do I have to start smoking in order to get several breaks throughout my eight hour work day?It just doesn't seem fair. I'm sure you have seen them? Several smokers huddled around each other smoking and socializing on company time. They act as if a (smoke) break is owned to them because they are smokers. What would happen if I, a non-smoker decided that in addition to taking an hour lunch, about 8 times a day for 5 minutes each I'm going to just stop working and walk around socializing with others, perhaps go to my car to listen to some tunes or lay on my cubicle floor and take a snooze? I'm sure that would not go over well! That would mean that in addition to an hour or so lunch, I'm using 40 (8 X 5) extra minutes to take a break which is being payed by my employer. I don't remember reading that in my company manuel. Well, That's exactly what smokers do. Smokers are taking paid breaks while the rest of us are answering their phones.

I don't know but I could barely remember my breaks due to being so busy, let alone take them..Sometimes I didn't take them..The people that smoked made sure I remembered they were going on break...
