Even I don't talk to my neighbours.. Actually, most of the people living in my locality prefr staying indoors, just to themseleves, so there was never a chance to be able to talk to them.. I have very few friends in my neighbourhood... But I am not regretting..

I don't make a point to talk to all my neighbours. I just pass a smile whenever I come across them.

There is no problem in talking with neighbours. But I feel, while talking if they try to interfere in our personal life. Then, its better to make distance from such neibhours. As of now, they aren't interfering above my accepted level,so I am talking with them. Cheers, -AV

I know a lot of neighbours these days don't even know each other, I have always been lucky with my neighbours, I seem to always get older neighbours and they tend to adopt me, one of my neighbours even cooks meals for me at times which is nice as she is a good cook and I am not. I babysit their dog when they go away so we have a nice relationship, it is sad when neighbours don't know each other when they are sharing the same space.

I talk to my neighbors in my apartment building all the time. There was a time when Americans communicated with their neighbors a lot more. Now, there is this everybody mind your own business and every man for himself mentality. It is really very sad to think about.

What is different here than in your own country? You speak with people there why not here? The best way to know people is to talk with them. I know all of my neighbors and have become close friends with most of them in my neighborhood. Great fun we have together. sunnywaters

Sadly, it has become a time where most people don't talk to each other. I only have one neighbor that I talk to. And it is only to say hello. I get caught off gaurd if someone even walks by to say hello. I always hoped that I would live in a town where all the neighbors got together for BBQs and things. It just isn't that way where I live. No one really knows each other. It's a good day if you even get a smile from someone.

Hello sexylc, Yes I do talk with my neighbor. I live in a subdivision and most of my neighbors are very friendly. So its pretty easy to talk with them. Almost every weekend you'll see most of them out of their house on sidewalk or plaza just hanging out and talking, anyone can join in. I think its very common here in most places in our country that most people in a neighborhood knows and often talk with each other. Growing up I have moved in different neighborhood but almost always become friends or have gotten know my neighbors. I think its probably I am very friendly, approachable, and easy to get along with.:-)

Hello, sexylc. There is a saying in we China: relatives faraway art no better than neighbors nearby. I believe in it. I am lucky that we have a good neighbor family. The uncle, the aunt and the boy are like our own family member. In memory, the uncle and my father are like brothers, the aunt and my mother are like sisters and I like the boy as I like my own brother. In the spare time, father and uncle go fishing, play chess and so on; mother and aunt maybe cook or knitting together; I play with my two brothers-- certainly one is true and the other is 'counterfeit'.hehe~~ Now I live in my home only for very short time. But I must go to visit them as long as I go back home. Wherever I go, the memory about them will be in my heart for ever.

Hi, I don't talk to my neighbors. Yeah...if i meet them at the road, we just say 'hi'and doing little talk. Mostly they asking about how is everything with my son. What can he do now? My son now almost 14 months. The other reason i don't talk to my neighbors and they also don't talk too much with me, because my Dutch is not so good ^_^. I live in here just 3years so..i still need much time to learn their language.

I don't usually talk to my neighbors. Just a quick smile and a hello if anything but nothing more. I've lived at four different locations so far and I cannot really say I got to know any of the neighbors, because that is how I wanted it. I respect other people's need for privacy as much as I want them to respect mine.

I got you sexylc! In my country we love talking to our neighbors it seems like we knew each other. Speciallly, weekend we all hanging outside the house talking to them. In the states I am here for almost 2 yrs. also but just say HI! & BYE! to the neighbors. I mean at first, so weird to think about it, but now I started to get use to it. This is the way of life here! i guess!
