It seems that Natural Child Birth is the way to go in Brittian. Under new guidlines the hospitals will no longer give epadurals to women during Child Birth. They also want women to wait to have a Cecariain Section. It seems that these procedurescost more than Natural Child birth adn with the cost of Health Care increasing they need to cut costs. Is this the driection we will go with Hillary Care? We have a great health care system and the problem is that some people do not sign up for health Insurance, or choose not to buy it. According to the US Census some where in the neighborhood 47,000,000 people do not have Health Insurance. When you read the number and the breakdown more than half are making the choice not to have Insurance. Of the 47 million we do not know how many are here illeagly. Bopttom line we are talking about a reletivly small number of people who need access to health insurance. Lets look for a way to help them without creating a government monster and soocilized medicine wher eyou have an "obligation to die" after a certain age.

I had an ex who had to give birth by an epidural, because her pelvis is too narrow to give birth naturally, in that case how would that work in the UK?
A c-sect is just as dangerous as a epidural, maybe more-so.
I would think that every woman would want to have at least one kid.

Well you'd think that if needed, then they would give the woman an epidural, it's not like they won't still stock them.
I guess if not then they will just wait to have a c-section, although it does seem a tad obscure.
In extreme cases I would imagine it's still available.
And just so you know, plenty of women don't want or need a child to validate their existence or to complete them. =]

The cost of health care is prohibitive, right now I am redefining my career, in my mid-50's, what I am paid for my work is woeful. I have to work a 1/2 day a week, gross to cover the cost of my insurance.
That is 10% of my gross salary.
Now what I am making is less than 40% of what I used to make. So you might guess, I have to work a ton of overtime (today was a 14 hour day, yesterday was 13) to not really be able to afford to live. My next raise will be a whopping .25 an hour, and comes March I will get a 2% raise, which will be a whole .26 an hour. Then a year later another 2% raise, and how much do you think that insurance will go up - you can better more then 2% and my school taxes go up double digits every year. It is about the only place where I can cut corners. I brown bag my food, including my coffee. My van is 9 years old...you get the picture.

President Bush proposed a tax change that would have given you a tax deduction for the cost of insurance and not the employer. You would also be able to go in and buy the type of coverage you want. I may want to buy a policy that will cover all my medical expences but would be willing to pay $5,000, as a deductable. Just like Auto Insurance, my preimums would be lower than the person who wants a $100 per year deductable. Even now there are clinincs that will give you 15% to 25% discounts if you will pay up front in cash. This is what they figure they save in billing costs and extra employees. We need less government regulation and more individual responsiblity. Give us the money and let us buy the indurance we want.

Whenever humans organize themselves in large numbers certain behaviors occur over and over. This needing to encourage natural child birth as a way to ration health care is but one more example.
Whenever a collective service without immediate direct cost is instituted demand outstrips supply.
Everytime.
When are people going to learn?

I think there is nothing wrong in going natural, because it is more healthy. However, if only to cut cost on insurances or medical expenses, the risc is getting people killed in the process. If health insurance is the problem, then there ust be a way to solve that.
