Harry Potter is the bigger deal I think. High School Musical is popular, but that didn't over a couple million per book and movie and is still making money each day and for the forseeable future.

Highscool musical is just a modern-day rip off the movie Grease. And for any of you who haven't seen Grease, I assure you, it's 100 times better than Highschool Musical could ever hope to be. I think Harry Potter is a modern-day idol, and the series will probably go down in history as the most popular childrens series ever written (unless of course JK Rowling comes out with another series that tops this one!).

that is a very tough question i would say... My reason being I absoluetly LOVE Harry Potter... It is one of my favorite movie series sets... But i also have to say that i LOVE highschool musical. I think that they are both great movies and rank rqually at number one in there different movie genres.

of course harry potter is more famous than the high school musican. in my own opion.. harry potter have a 5 movie series.. while the high school musican got only 2, and it was only tv series..not a movie series..

i think yes, he's he modern idol but i think his fame would subside when the movie series finishes. Have you see his movie trailer?its not that striking.

If you idolizes Harry Potter then you look at him as a modern idol. I prefer Highschool Musical. Maybe because I am into music and not into Harry Potter. Anyway, Harry Potter was a top grosser film so i can say it is very good film to watch for.
