Do you think it is applicable and appropriate to have a mid-night snack? My aunt usually do this. She usually waked up in the middle of the night and ate whatever foods she might see inside the refrigerator. We had already told her the disadvantages of eating during the middle of night, but she does not listen to us. She just say that she feels hungry during that time. Do you think it is okay?

Its very bad to health.... Ask her to drink full cup of milk and banana, before went to sleep.... surely it will clear her problem...

If you eat just before you go to sleep, your body will transform the food directly into fat because you don't need much energy during the night. This is bad. Tell your aunt that she should instead try to eat more at dinner and then maybe go for a walk or do some physical exercise before she goes to sleep: this should stop her being so hungry at such an inappropriate time.

I agree, it is not good to eat in the middle of the night especially if it is a large meal and she goes right back to sleep. When I was younger I heard it told that it was not good to eat and then lie down. You should sit up at least 30 minutes after eating.

If she is hungry, then I guess it's ok... personally, I find it quite difficult to get to sleep with an empty stomach, since I'm too busy thinking about my stomach to get to sleep... It's best if one doesn't eat too much before they go to sleep though I think, just enough so you're not hungry should be enough, and no more.

It is not good to have a midnight snack. It disrupts the sleep cycle. I had actually developed an acute case of acid reflux problems because I would eat a late night meal. There is a positive correlation between midnight snacking and weight problems. But it is a bad habit to break. It's hard because the body is program to eat around that time. If anything, make sure she eats healthier foods (prevent greasy, spicy, etc.)

if she's hungry she's hungry, you sure she isn't sleep walking and this is part of that? If she's paying for what she's eating then as long as she's not actually harming herself, then there isn't a problem.I'd def look into whether she's sleep walking, they can be very aware at the time
