what country is he really from? i mean.. he looks like a mexican but speaks pretty funny. no harm meant guys. i love the guy. i just dont know where he came from..

A while ago I saw episodes where Fez was going to be deported. Eric's sister (can't think of her name at the moment) married him just so he could stay. 'Fez' was created by the writers as an acronym (with some poetic licence) for 'Foreign Exchange Student'. His actual name & country of origin are never mentioned because the writers could never decide on his origins so decided to leave it secret. The actor, Wilmer, said he created the accent he uses on the show so noone would know what country he is from. The actor moved from Venezuela to L.A with his family when he was 13.

wow. yours is one of the best answers ive had. i just started watching on re runs thats why i have no idea about the whole show. i think im only in season 2. and i dont have a copy of the rest. but ill buy one as soon as a got the chance.

Cast from 70's Show - 70's Show Cast
This is one of my favorite series and I'm still watching reruns on Nick at night. I especially like Steven. I don't think they ever said exactly where Fez is from but I don't think he's Mexican.
