When i was in my teens i like to read a lot different novels with interesting love stories(it's actually addictive too) but when i started working i never had enough time to read novels since it requires time to finish reading one. Now, i am to reading magazines cause i learn a lot from it, like fashion, health, style, home, food recipe's, celebrity, sports, about life overall so it's really nice. I like reading novels when i jst have time but i usually read magazines now. How about you? :)

i love to read novels too. i have a collection of books from my favorite authors. sometimes when i get busy i would forget about them and when someone mentions a novel by my fave authors i try to remember the plot and if i really cant recall i'd try to read the book again. i also try to buy new books from other genre at least 1 in a month or 2. i also read magazines, there really is a lot you can learn from these, im also planning to get a subscription from a local mag here and its called smart parenting and another is working mom. they're really are a great help to modern working mom.

I like reading both. Magazines have some good stories inside or some good learning tools. I get the readers digest every month and I really enjoy it. I like reading novels as well especially the earlier times or something in the way of biographies or history. Anything that is written well that makes it interesting. I just love to read.

I tried few tines to read novels but I think I'm not a person who can do it. I prefer to read magazines better than novels. But what I don't like about magazines, can see and read a lot things like what you mention above.

I read a lot. I've read so many novels when I was in high school and college. But I don't have time to do in the last few years because of work and family. I have subscriptions to business magazines, but I'm considering not to subscribe anymore because there are so many information on the internet that are for free and I don't even have time to read all of them :)

I don't like reading novels though, but I do like reading books which give u an insight into ur personality as well as the ways to understand others.. They are really interesting to read.. I also like reading some autobiographies, but of late none has been able to impress me quite... As far as magazines are concerned, I only go for the daily newspaper.. It has lots of stuff to read other than the usual news...

I prefer reading novels over reading magazine. Its just taht I enjoy reading stories from the beginning up to the end... But I also read magazines...I just only choose among the topics... I dont read it from cover to cover, so I prefer buying novels than magazines. Though in magazine you will have a dose of everything from different topics.

I like magazines for a "quick read." Especially when waiting in the Drs. Office. Also for recipes or exercise routines. But I like novels to take my mind off things that bother me. So in the evenings, I think they're fun to read. Take care

hi...this is a really good discussion u hav started....and if u ask me then for me it dosen matter which book i am reading....i love to read both magazines as well as novels...but if i would hav to choose then i will surely prefer novels....we can learn stuffs from novels too and sometimes the stories are so realistic that we can relate to it....magazines are good timepass but for me they dont contain the magic which is present in the novels.....

I prefer to read novels over magazines. I like the story and the escape from real life, even if it is only for a little while. I like to flip through magazines for the same reasons you like to read them. I like keeping up to date on all the fashion and beauty tips as well as the health stuff.

Magazines are good for doctors waiting rooms but I would rather read a book anytime. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts, Jackie Collins, Maggie Shayne, and the list could go on but these are my favorites right now. I am open to reading anything really. I get into the ocassional romance novel but fantasy, horror and science fiction are my favorites. Mysteries are ok too but I would rather read a horror story. I also enjoy writing my own short horror stories sometimes and would someday like to try my hand at writing a novel. Right now I don't have the time but I would like to take the time soon. :)

Definitely magazines since they are faster and easier to read than novels which takes a lot of time, effort and understanding. Magazines are more attractive than novels, agree? :) Its really the colors and pictures which makes the magazines better than most novels I think. I do have read novels but I still prefer magazines. :)

dear claire... i used to read a lot of romantic novels when i was a lot younger, ages ago. after that... with college, and later work... and then,... motherhood... no time to read anything - even the newspaper. i do most of my reading on the net !! (news, articles,.... short stories like chicken soup or reader's digest...) i guess that's why i dun even buy magazines... dun have time to sit and read 'em.. no point wasting money buying them. i depend tooooo much on the net, maybe... but... since i use the computer all the time while i am working... i 'escape' once in awhile to read some 'things' - like your postings (;]) but i have taken up reading novels again, lately... 'forced' by husband... to show to the children.. that reading is a good thing. ( i never felt reading was bad... just didnt have time to do it anymore...) just hope i can finish the novel soon - i read so few pages a day... i forgot the story...hee.. hee... hee...
