My man hates my hair.... Do I change it?

I dyed my hair which was supposed to be dark brown but ended up black. No I am not changing my pic, HEHE and my man said he likes me as a blond or light brown more. Now I am not happy with the black but now I feel like if I change it back he will think I did it for him. He isn't going to leave me over it or anything carzy, we have been together over 11 years, but I can't give him that satisfaction, can I? LOL

Hi Vicki, I think you should never change yourself for anybody else. The most important thing is that when you look yourself into the mirror, you like what you see. Do not need to worry about what other people will see in you.

well its your hair and if you like it black then keep it but if you dont like it then color it back to blonde.for you not for your husband.he loves you for you and not the color of your hair so it really shouldnt matter what color your hair is,even if it was blue, its just our hair and we have to live with it,so if your not happy with it then change it.if you need advice about coloring it back to blonde,i will be glad to asist you.i have been a hairdresser for over 15 years.take care.pattie

Hey pattie you do have excellent hair! Too bad you are far away I would get you to do it nice! I do have a question though. How long should I wait to dye it again. i don't want to overkill it or something. And should I use a weekly treatment or something. Getting rid of black is pretty harsh right?

alright my friend, first step is to buy some pert plus shampoo and wash your head like 6 times and see how light your hair will lighten up.because this shampoo will strip out some of the color very quickly and it does work well.you might be able to wash it with this stuff for a few days and you might like the color it will end up to be without even coloring your hair again.because the blonde will bleed thrugh this dark color.so i would do this for a few days and at least shampoo about 6 or 8 times and see from there.if it lightens up to a decent color then you dont have to color again.but if you want to color it after you lightened it up from the shampoo, then you can continue doing the shampoo and then once the black is no longer black then you can add a blonde color.but do the shampoo process first and let me know what it does from there.then i will take you to the next step.just use a regualr conditioner for color treated hair.pattie

Thanks bronie, yeah after all these years and colors he is used to me trying anything with the hair. I can have it half way down my back and the next day gone to a "boy cut". Be any color, no matter. Thanks

WEll, I believe that he does not hate it, its just that she like it more when you still have your blond hair. It is up to you my friend, because I can say that with your words, he is not forcing you too. If you would be more happy, making him happy rather than your black hair then go ahead change it back. :)

You changed your avatar so it's hard for me to recognize you:) Perhaps your man has a very high requirement, because you already look nice.

Maybe he just doesn't like the hairstyle, or the colour. However, tell him that he has to love you the way you are, as the old line goes! he he he You are cute, and still will be cute even with that yellow hair!

You have to ask yourself the question, are you really truly satisfied with your hair being black? You also have to decide to change it back, going back gradually and for your own reason. Now if you find out that you have to buy a whole set of new makeup and perhaps clothes, get yourself new colored contact lenses, then perhaps black was not the color for you. Doing this will let your guy think that you are doing it for yourself, that you discovered that black was not a becoming color for you. What is your real true hair color? Maybe you disliked it because you wore the wrong color type of clothes and used the wrong makeup. So once you find out what looks best on you, you will look stunning in what nature gave you.

hair - no point in having fake hair that your man doesn't like
If he prefers your natural hair color then I think that's exactly what you should have. No point in having fake hair that your man doesn't like. And what's wrong with doing it for him? You love him don't you? A problem would be if your man doesn't like your natual hair. You're lucky he likes you just the way you are naturally.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad hair coloring experience. HA, I still do the eeny, meeny miney mo thing just for gray coverage. Anyway...it sounds like your guy was just giving his honest opinion (something rare as men seem to say what they think women "want" to hear). I don't think it is about winning or losing anything and it won't hurt to say, "you know, I don't like it this dark either, I was afraid you'd say you liked it this way and then I would have felt bad about lightening it some". And then go for the shade you wanted to achieve in the beginning.

Hello! It doesn't really matter if what's the colour of your hair, what's important is you feel happy about it. If you think you don't like the black colour anymore then change it for yourself and not for your husband. But you know man, they like to think that you do it for them. Make him wait for a little while then change it..LOL! Don't worry, it's how you carry yourself that's makes you pretty and not your hair colour. *smile* Take care. ciao! c",)

If you truly don't like it, then change it back. If he thinks you did it for him, then that's just a plus..because then he'll OWE you. The next time you want him to do something for you, you can say "But I changed my hair for you!!" LOL

Well Vicki, I think that you should look how you want to look. Your happiness is just as important as his! I think you should experiment with your appearance - it's healthy to change and update yourself. And if you've been together for that amount of time I'm sure he'll relish the chance at being with a lady that looks a little different and one that wants to look good! I reckon he's a very lucky guy :) xxx www.AddAnImage.com

why not you love him don't you... know were not friends and after i post this probably never will be lol. but to put it in a nutshell for you, you're skin is too light to go with a black hair sorry if the truth hurts as they say. you might get away with being a red head with your colour but think i would agree with your hubby and say you should go with lighter colour such as a light brown or mousey brown would even say you could pull off a being a dirty blonde and don't mean it as it sounds. stay with colours that suit your skin tones. hate me if you must thats ok just keep your man happy and everything else will fall into place and work out...

That's too funny! I would say if you don't like it - I mean you didn't want it that way to start with, right? - then just say "Ya know, I don't really like it either" and change it back. Of course I have never dyed my hair because I don't want to damage it, so you might want to wait a while for it to get stronger before putting more chemicals in it. Then he'll probably like it and when you go back to brown he'll comment again :)

Hi Vicki2876 - LOL, your reaction is funny ;) or I find it funny since I wouldn't mind to give him the pleasure to look at me the ways he prefers to see me. So, change it if you tink he is right ;), and if you don't than stay back haired for awhile :) TheFortunes
