It is one hell of a life when you are really in short of financial resources to meet even your daily needs . It is as bad or good as a dead piece of block. Who wouldn't wish to live short when funds are not coming in to rescue you from such day today life's predicaments ?

You need to cut down to the bare minimum and budget your money in order to survive. Like they say... as long as there is hope... there is life. It is very much a question of survival while you wait to catch a break and make some money one way or another. You would be surprise on how little you can live on if you have to. It is very much a question of deciding what you really need in order to survive the hard times.

I have lived on a very small and little pension check for the past 6 years, and it is not going to get better, so rather than bemoan my life I work with what I have and make do, and live with in my financial means and if that requires me to do with out something until I can save up for it so be it. Life is far to short to even go into a depression because I can't have or do something for lack of money. My cup is always half full and occasionally even a bit more than half.

And I see you are here, picking up a little extra cash and having some fun doing it. Good for you! There is nothing worse than hearing retired people or people who have a disability complain about lack of money, but they won't even try doing something like this to earn a little money. And these are people who own computers and have internet access. My next door neighbor is a perfect example of that. She's almost 70 years old and fell and broke her hip about a year and a half ago. She used to have a part time job until shortly before the accident. All she does is talk about how she wishes she could get a part time job and make some money. She has all the free time in the world to get online and do things like mylot and other money earning stuff, but when I tell her about these things, she has no interest. I get tired of hearing about how dire her situation is. I find it difficult to feel any sympathy for her.

Hi Sukumar, are things that bad with you that you are so depressed and, considering that no life is better than living in misery? At one point mostly all of us are in bad financial state, and many have lost everything, homes, cars, whatever they possessed before their financial crash. However, it definitely doesn't mean we should give it up, and die just because we are so "poor". Under such circumstances we usually get a genius idea, or somehow someone comes into our help and shows us the way how to get out of the hole we have fallen in. Keep going my friend, and do not succumb and give up now. You'll see that somehow there will be a way out for you, even maybe at the last minute :) TheFortunes

Dear sukumar794, 30 years before I had no 10 paise to take a bus for an interview. That particular interview was very important to me. I walked more than 2 miles to reach the interview address. I was successful in my interview and got the job. Today I am financially well off but I do remember that day always.

You need to be more specific here. I also struggle to make ends meet and always have. There were times that things were so bad, well, I don't even like to think about it but we did survive and we still are. I work hard and budget and we get by somehow. You have internet so you haven't hit rock bottom yet. right? I know it is stressful but you have to set limits and priorities. Food and shelter should be tops on the list.

I'm always short of money, but I don't want to shorten my life. So as much as possible, I do not let the situation affect me. I'm lucky that I have supportive family and though I am living independently, I can still run back to my mom when I need something for daily sustenance.

I understand that. We've lost everything. For the past four years we've had to rely on his parents. His father passed away last week so just his mother now. Only now, we're finally able to care for her a little. Its a miserable life at times but its got to get better right, can't get much worse.

I'm not going to suggest you budget or cut down, because I don't know your circumstances. For all I know, there may not be anything left to "budget". But one important thing to remember is that everything is temporary, including your current situation. Circumstances change, sometimes very quickly and drastically. Also there are people who will help you if you need help, and some of them are strangers. I don't know if you have family who can help you, but that is another option. Also, just looking for ways to earn a little extra money always helps, even if it's not a lot in the beginning. Even if you only earn $10.00 a day, five days a week, that's $200.00 a month. Would that help you? It helps me and I can manage to do that online.

If you budgeted and cut down, then of course, you do not want to be short of money. Have you exhausted all your resources, are there no ways for you to earn more money and make a better living? I gather that you are using an internet cafe, since it is obvious that unless someone gave you a computer for free, or you are allowed to use the computer lab at school, college, university, or work, you cannot own a computer or an internet connection. I also suspect that you need to work at writing here to make something, for even a pittance is better than nothing. How did you wind up in this situation? Is there no one that can help, or no one that can help you? Maybe if you give us more details, then someone here can help you rather than the usual cut down, cut down, go without that is usually suggested.

money - cutting down on expenses is a good way to survive
Yeah I know how it feels. I hate it when that happens because I don't like borrowing money even from a credit card. So I just take radical measures to cut down on expenses. That's how I survive the tough times.

This is a problem that many people have. Not enough money for the daily needs. It is a sad state of affairs indeed and many times it is because the person is too sick to work. However, there is always hope and one should not give up.
