Ok I've been working at the PetsHotel for about a month now, and I am very happy with who I work for. The manager of the hotel is very nice and she tries to make me as happy as possible. I left her a note asking her if Thursdays and Fridays could be 2 of the days I get off (i get 3 days off) and she said she is going to try to work that out for me, she just needs me to work this friday at least. I told her that was fine, but she is going to try to get my thursdays and fridays off after this next week. Also, for some reason I'm getting 4 days off this week instead of 3. I don't know why. But I'm happy! I really need to ctach up on my sleep! lol. I just wanted to share how nice my work was!!! =P

Well Lily, its good you are getting along with the people at work. It makes work less of a pill to swallow. And you should enjoy the time off so you can rest up a bit.

I am going to enjoy the time off big time! lol I work the night shift, so I sleep during the day. And lately, I don't know why, i've had trouble getting sleep. One day I only got 3 hours of sleep and then I had to go to work. It was AWFUL lol. I am really going to enjoy that extra day of lots of sleep! =) The manager of the hotel def. makes my working life a lot easier. She is really cool. one night I came in, clocked in and went out into the hotel where the manager was talking to the other night person. We talked to the manager for like 20 minutes before she left and we started our work...we got payed for 20 minutes of talking! lol. I'm really happy where I work now! yay! =)

Oh it is so important for people to be happy in their job and I think it is something all employers should take extra time in keeping them happy, gees people only live once and should be happy doing everything in life that is possible, surely employers should know by now that a happy worker will give more of themselves, it is good to hear that good jobs are still around...

Yeah. When I worked at Kohls, I did not like my employers. The first time I called in sick they asked me too come in anyways! And one day they asked me to work on one of my days off (and I only had like 1 or 2 days off that week) and I told them I couldn't and they got mad! I def. quit that job quik! lol. But I am so much happier at PetSmart. My emplyers are very nice. I almost feel bad calling in sick there! lol. I've gone in sick a few times just because I know they don't have enough people working the night shift. I wouldn't want to make someone work alone. But if I ever do feel really bad I know they won't have a problem with me calling in sick, if I get the guts to do it =P lol.

That is a very nice one. It is rare that you find such amiable employers or superiors. In many cases, I think inferiority complex makes the employers or superiors develop some attitude against you. But an appreciative employer will always express joy at the workers's input into the system. So good for you, show appreciation by enjoying your work more.

That's really great, Lily. It is nice to hear someone speak highly of their employers and work environment. Life would be so much better if bosses could treat everyone well. Then hardly anyone would have such a problem going to work. Keep up the good work, I bet your an ideal employee. : )

Yeah, I'm lucky I got good employees on my second try at the work force! =P lol. I think they might like me, because at the start of the Hotel they hired 4 people for overnight (incluind me) and I am the only one who stayed. The other 3 quit after a month! Now they hired 2 new ones, but I was the only one who stayed with them. And I worked a couple of nights alone too help them out while everyone else was quitting.

One important thing that I learned when I work with people is not what we get in terms of salary. I'm not saying that salary or get paid is not important, yet it has to be balance with the work you are doing. I had this job back few years ago where it paid high salary. But in the end, I have to sacrifice a lot of my personal time and I found the working environment was not good, my boss was sucks, and I couldn't develop myself further. I found all of this after I joined for 1 month. When I got interviewed, I didn't know about this. So, what? I quit and back to my previous company. I think one should consider the working environment, the job they love to do, and off course, your boss. A good boss can help you improve and less stress. Hehehehe... Glad that you have a good boss Lily. I have a good boss now and I'm happy all day. But, after few months, he'll go back and I'l have a new boss coming in. :)

Well I do have a good boss, and overall a good working environment :) I get 7.71 an hour...but I so far I have earned a lot more than that. I got over 11 dollars and hour for 8 hours of overtime (I never worked any overtime! =P) and on my last paycheck, I only worked 32 hours and they gave me payment for 73!!!!!! yay! lol. So i have a good boss, good working environment, and the money isn't bad either! =) I feel so lucky.
