Single Fathers

I was talking to my sister about how I wouldn't mind dating a guy who already has a baby, because it shows he is responsible. And she said, wouldn't that make him irresponsible? And I thought that would make for an interesting debate! When you see a single father do you see him as irresponsible, because he has a kid, or do you see him as responsible for taking care of it by himself.
I def. see a single father as responsible. He took it upon himself to take care of this baby alone...even though generally a baby is not directly a fathers responsibility. So I do think they took responsibilty for caring for their baby alone.
What do you guys think?

I agree with you whole heartedly. If its a guy that has a baby and not helping raise the child that makes him irresponsible but because he is in fact taking care of his child(ren) on his own that in itself makes him responsible. And since I am a single mother I would rather date a single father as well.

Yay! Someone else agrees with me =P hehe. I think any single parent is responsible. But honestly, I just think as single fathers as MORE responsible because people never really think of the father as the first one who is obligated to take care of the baby alone, usually it goes to the mom. But I do see single parents as very respectable people.

Yuppers I agree with that too. I find them more attractive because of it as well just for the simple fact that they know what we are going through and we can help eachother out when needed.

Yay,..I love when people agree with me =P lol. I def. can udnerstand how single parents would make great couples! They already have a lot in common, including a love for kids! =)

There are times when birth control fails and can result in pregnancy. If a man accepts his responsibility in the matter I commend them. There are too many men who turn tail and run. The man that steps up to the plate and raises the child is the one who is most responsible.

Thats exactly my thinking! =) That's why I wouldn't mind being with a single father. It's hard enough to find mature/responsible guys and he obivously has both those qualities! So I think that's why a single father would be the perfect guy! lol.

For me, they are responsible Fathers. Because they still take care of their baby. And it is okay if you dated a single father. Atleast you know he can take care of everything, because he has the time for his baby and time to date you.

I was in the single father shoes raising a child on my own. Then I met and married my present wife who was a single mother of two. Why would a father raising a child on his own make him irresponsible? I would think it would make him all the more responsible.

I don't know if my sister actually thinks of single fathers as irresponsible, she was just brining up a debate...because me and my sister do that a lot lol. I def. do think they are responsible in everyway possible! =)
