Which do you prefer: City or Country living?

Do you prefer to live in the city and around everything that's going on or out in the country where it's quieter? I like a mix between the two. Right now I live in the city but I'd like to find a place inbetween. Here in Alabama there are plenty of places that are within driving distance of many major cities (Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans) and everyday things you need (like Walmart, Target, the mall, fast food) but are still country enough to where you can see every star out at night and go to sleep to the sound of total silence.

I definitely love living in the city, it's just so convenient. I don't need to rely on cars to get something I need at night. We have people everywhere and I feel kind of safe. But as getting older, I do start fancying about country life, where the air is cleaner and the pace of life is slower. But I am really not sure if I could get used to being in the middle of nowhere!

Yes that could be tiring to hear neighbors all the time! So, I guess the best part would be living in the city and the country whenever we want to! That's why we need to make more money to have two fabulous house *laughs*.

LOL, in the middle of nowhere is not fun. I grew up in the city so for me I need to be in the middle of city and country to be comfortable. I don't want to be too far out because it does become a pain when you need things but I like that you get your own space. Right now I live in the city and I'm getting tired of having neighbors so close by!

I have lived in a city type environment all my life, and there are advantages to it...within walking distance..and you be surprised how far I can walk..hehe..I have access to just about everything, about five supermarkets, a movie theater, two shopping malls, two libraries, boutiques galore..everything. However, I must confess to having a bit of the country gal in me..Years ago, when my mom and I went on vacations, it was always some country area, like Lancaster, Pa. and I loved the peacefulness and serenity there...of course, now you're talking about the need of a car just to get a container of milk...but I would still love to live in the country eventually --mmm..another thing for that vision board...LOL

I grew up in the city too and when we moved out to Alabama I just thought I would die, lol. I was used to everything being around the corner and all the constant noise, there always being a million and one things to do and all the diversity. Once I got used to it here though I grew to love it, and now I walk around outside barefoot like I forgot what shoes are and I feed stray critters, lol. I couldn't live too country though, if it's more than 20 minutes to a Target then I need Xanex.

I definitely prefer the country. Away from the hustle and bustle (so to speak) of city life. I really get nervous driving there. Country life with flowing creeks and rivers surrounded by wooded areas makes me come alive. You know, a walk in fields of daisies and hiking through the mountains. It's a wonderful life, Charlie Brown. LOL. I don't mind the cows and the horses and all that stuff. And home cooked meals just taste better out in the country side. Well, you have a wonderful Monday.

I was born in the city, so I pretty much prefer city life.I just like there is so much to do there and everything is close to you, when you need something to purchase or go to the hairdresse.I just like that kinds of lifestyle.Country is not bad too, I lke it for vocations, but cannot really imagine living there. It is too slowly for me there and too silenct.

I think i'm with you on this one, I think the best bet for me would be to live inbetween both. Why? Well.. because some days I just feel like dealing with a whole bunch of people & just going wild and doing whatever to have fun! But. On other days a nice quiet day with noone to bug you can be wonderful!

I prefer the country 100%. As long as I'm within about 30 minutes of a Wal-mart and a few good restaraunts, then I'm happy. I prefer the quiet, the privacy, and usually you are in a smaller school district, which in my opinion is way better. I would NEVER live somewhere like Dallas, Chicago, or New York City!! I would hate every minute of it. Actually I don't even like visiting big cities.

I think that both have their special qualities and one should alternate between the two.

I live closer to the city now so my hubby can get to work easier but I am a country person at heart. I would love to have a small farm and live off the land a bit more than we do now. I want to know where my veggis came from.

At present I will prefer to live in the city, because I have to work everyday. I don't want to spend lots of time going to work when I live in the country. Besides, it is convenient to live in the city. One day when I am rich, I will like to live in the country because I don't worry I will be short of anything even if I live there:)

For vacations/relaxations I'd love to visit the country. But I would definitely prefer city-living, I like the fast-paced, kinda noisy way of life :)

I'm in the country, but at the edge of a tiny town. We have conveniences close by, but no city problems. The closest bigger city is about 30 minutes away, and we go when necessary for shopping or major purchases. But coming home is the best part of the trip!

It's really hard for me to say because I'm lucky enough to always be traveling between 2 different homes. My boyfriends job is that when he is working, we live in the city and when he isn't we live moreless in the country (somewhat). I just couldn't live too far from a store that had the things we'd need. I'd go crazy!!!

I think it's the best to have two houses, one located in the city and one in the countryside. Haha. I mean I am still young and I have to work, for sure it is more convenient for me to actually live in town/ city area. However, maybe when I free, I would really like to stay peaceful away from everything in the country side.

As long as my Llama is happy, I don't care whether we're in the city or in the country. However, I have found that I have less problems with people complaining about my Llama when I have lived in the country. I don't understand how people can be so ignorant when it comes to llamas. At least in the city I can ride my llama to work because it's not too far. The only bad thing about it is that my boss still hasn't provided me with a good parking spot for my llama, but we're going to work it out, I just know it!
