i wish i asked this question before i dated that scum cop. ^__^;; checking at NSO would seem so much like a hassle but its worth the trouble right.. but wouldn't the NSO be asking you for what purposes are you going to use those personal information? i mean, is it okay to ask for personal data regarding a person you are not related with? ^__^;; it would have been easier if the guy's family is popular in their place. you could easily ask there right?? but its a bad idea if the guy lives in a different province. LOL

he was your boyfriend before right so you were still sort of related to him. i think NSO would definitely understand if you're going to check out that guy. you're going to pay NSO anyway for the Form you're going to request from them so it's no longer their business to ask you further questions as to why you are going to get one. you're just going to fill up some form with the guys certain personal data. ('.') anyway, don't feel bad anymore about that guy. i tell you, there is definitely karma and he's going to get that sooner or later.

yes you can check a guy or a girl previous marriages if ever she/he has. that is asking for singleness. actually you dont need to find someone who works from there as long as you know his/her personal data. name, birthday, birthpalce and specially name of parents. and i think also parents birthplace.

thank you... that is up to my sister she can ask the guy upfront about those details... i hope the guy is a fellow dentist, that means , there is a personal record of him in the hospital , and maybe my sister can ask somebody to look it up for her so i can check the guy

people from NSO will let you fill up a paper with this personal info, i just wish that this system will be changed. i just wish that we could ask a persons singleness even with just a name and a birthday for it will be easy for us to know, specially us females if the guy we like to get wed is still single or acting like single.

I don't also know if that works, I also wanted to check someone's background on NSO but I backed out because of grounds they would question my relation to the said person. But if you know someone who works from there, then I guess that would be great help to you. Also, try asking someone you know who works on law offices or government organzations that deals with this particular type of issue..

this is a bice post because my sister also met a guy from other country and she told me that the guy is getting serious to her and wants to marry her one day. it confuses or hesitates her to answer the guy because the guy told her that he never married anybody and to think that the guy is 50 years of age. I wonder how would my sister validate his status, the case is he's from other country.

maybe she can ask assistance from the embassy.then probably the embassy can check out the guys status through the country's government offices there. i am not so sure of this suggestion but maybe it can help. ('.')

I agree with most of you here that the only reliable way to get records of your sister's boyfriend is at the NSO...HOWEVER, not all records are yet updated...In case the guy has not records yet at the NSO I advise you to get the real and credible records at the LOCAL CIVIL REGISTRY where the guy is residing or at the latest place where he was known to have stayed. Get the personal details from your sister and these will be your bases for your inquiry to NSO or LOCAL CIVIL REGISTRY. As an advice too, avoid FIXERS!!!

as long as you bring the needed requirements. ask the help of the local civil registry and tell them your intention. i guess they will entertain you.

you're definitely right. you should check the guy's status first before they get into serious "business". yes you can check it out at the NSO office and tell them that you're to avail of CENOMAR or Certificate of Non Marriage. i think relatives can avail of that as long as you have the complete details of the guy's birth, birth place, his parent's name...you should also know the maiden's name of his mother, his address and i think even his parent's address if they are still alive. if they are to marry here in the Philippines i'm really not sure but i think it would also be required for both of them to present CENOMAR when they start working on their marriage documents. as for a website, i'm really not sure if you can avail of CENOMAR through the web.

that's very good advice you gave her. the situation you told her happened to me years ago and the guy involved got cornered and he was made to choose by the other girl and he chose me. now we're married. but if only i had known before i wouldn't probably go through the pain before for finding out there was another girl. i just hope she listens to you. I wish I could help you but I don't really know. But I do know the importance of what you're trying to do. My cousin, also from Saudi, became a victim. She got pregnant then found out that the guy had a wife and kid here in the Philippines. Nowadays married men are screwing around like dogs during mating season! It's like there's no tomorrow! They're throwing away their marriage certificate like it's toilet paper!

very true... thats what i fear for... my sister is still like a nene .childlike...(not childish) she's our youngest and i'm not sure if she'll be wise and making decisions about her lovelife... but i'm glad though she ask me to check the guy's status first...

That is really dangerous falling in love with a married guy. Man, your sister should talk to the man. My suggestion would be to let her sister wait till they both come home here in the Philippines and she should meet the family of that guy first. That way, she will have an idea regarding his status. I know getting information from government is easy if you have friends there. Just try your luck.

that is a very good advise.. i will tell her... definitely she should meet the family first... but i just remember... a friend of mine knew her guy's family met them already , got married... then she found out that there is another girl and a child...and she was the only one who doesnt know it, the guy's family kept it a secret...

That's such a brilliant idea to check out a man's availability or lack there-of! I wish more women in the states would be so smart. Your sister is so lucky to have you in her life and looking out for her best interests. I would do the same thing for a sister or best friend too! Be well. Thanks for the amazing and enlightening post.
