Paying minimum on credit card will cost us a lot?

I've read some financial blogs and they claimed that if we pay just a minimum on our credit card balance (like most people do), it will cost a lot in the long run. Do you pay only the minimum on your credit card balance each month? If what they mentioned is true, we're giving tonnes of money to the bank for free each month just because we stick to the minimum

Paying just a minimum balance every month and not making a full payment may sometimes be essential. Especially when we are short of Money -either in Cash or Cheque / Bank Account Balance to pay our dues. But there is an extra ,High interest on the remaining card balance . This way we end up paying more than we would have If we had paid the Full Amount earlier . So try to make "Full Payment" on time .

if we pay the minimum our balance will roll over the following month and so another finance chage is on the line.

charging you interest is how the credit card company makes its money. if you just pay the minimum, you're gonna pay interest on every single cent that you owe them AND its gonna take you years and years to pay it off. i remember reading somewhere that it would take over 5yrs just to pay $5000 back if you paid the minimum each month. or something approxiamate. lol! by paying MORE than the minimum needed you are lowering your balance WITHOUT having to pay interest on the amount extra you're sending. if you're tight on money for the month, then just pay the minimum required..but if you can afford to just pay $20 more than the minimum you will greatly reduce the amount you will pay overall and the time it will take you to pay off that debt. if you can pay more each month..it really is in your best interest to do it.
