Should media leave stars alone?

The personal troubles of celebrities such as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse have dominated the headlines this year. Should the press to leave them alone? Singer Britney Spears has been ordered by a judge in Los Angeles to hand over her two young children to her former husband Kevin Federline. This is the latest in a series of disasters to have struck the pop princess in 2007 including being charged with hit-and-run and a bizarre head shaving incident. Meanwhile, the UK's Amy Winehouse has faced similar troubles with concerns over her drug use and cancelled gigs. Has the obsession with celebrity gone too far? Should the press leave stars such as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse alone? Is it possible to combine fame with a successful private life?

I would hate to be a star for just that reason. You would not have any privacy. Every flaw would be analized by everyone. It would be a rough life for you and your family and friends. I would not want it at all. I think that the press will continue to harass tha stars until the news thay create is no longer news. That wont happen until we dont care anymore and we all love to watch the train wrecks as they happen.

I think celebrities like Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton want to be photographed and want the crazy coverage until they want a private life and to be left alone. And since they can't have it both ways, we see the pictures of them crying because photographers are following them everywhere. Paris Hilton especially seeked out this type of attention, she has done nothing noteworthy to warrant this type of coverage and yet she gets it. Why? Because she is an attention seeking party girl. If it was all the media's fault and was truly just about celebrity obsession then why do we see the same stars being talked about over and over and over again?

"Has the obsession with celebrity gone too far?" - No not really...I mean its no different to how it was 20 yrs ago or even 50 yrs ago for that matter its just that NOW we have the internet and tv shows that SPECIALIZE on this sort of thing... "Should the press leave stars such as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse alone?" - Honestly....as much as I think the press is a pain in the butt for these ppl and I do think they cross the line at times..when they got into the business they KNEW what would happen...I think that Spears, Winehouse, Hilton etc etc LOVE the publicity..'any attention is better than no attention' comes to mind when I think of celebs like them.... "Is it possible to combine fame with a successful private life?" - Absolutely! There are NUMEROUS stars who are A Lister stars but dont go through the same thing as ppl like Spears...I think the key for them is NOT acting like a drunken, stoned idiot on a regular basis out in public while only wearing half your clothes :-/

My opinion about this topic is that when a person enters showbiz or any public or media related field or job like that of actors, actresses, politicians or etc.. They are putting their self in a position that will be publicly viewed by many. Public or even personal lives of stars are followed by those news reporters and the so-called "paparazzi's" . So, it's not really the media's fault that they have to follow whoever that celebrity is because that's their job. To get information , the latest news or happening of that particular celebrity's life like Britney. But they also have to consider that even stars and celebrities have their private lives too. They should respect it and they should limit or put some border line into following those stars. Give them a bit privacy in their homes rather than sneeking and climbing up the wall just to take a sneek peek of what the "celeb" is doing at home.

I think if you are a star, it comes with the territory. Most stars want publicity, and they become icons - unfortunately they moan when they attract the wrong sort of publicity. If I was a star (an to be honest, I wouldn't want to be), I would have to make sure that my behaviour is impeccable. They only put in newspapers and the media what people want to buy.. Just my opinion though. :-)

Stars are just more famous than us.Once you became a very successful star,I think it's impossible for people not paying attention to them. If they want private life, than don't be a star.

thats the price they have to pay of being popular. they wont be popular if the media will leave them alone. t his is a sign that people are still interested to them for they are hot personality to talk about. once they are yesterdays news the media will never spend time to follow them around

Many of these celebrities are acting like this just to get the attention of the media. There are plenty of young actresses who have somewhat private lives and are not followed around. As far as Britney Spears is concerned, I really believe that if it wasn't for the media, she would still have her kids. I have never heard of being forced to meet with a parenting coach and testing twice a week as a determination of custody. There are lots of worse mothers out there than she is. Now that Federline has the kids, he will be under the same public scrutiny she was. That is what is sad for those kids.

Media is one of the factors that make or break a celebrity. I think they also want the attention and the same time their privacy but that's difficult to maintain. Its either public or private, can't be both at the same time

The truth is most are um lets say "crazy fans" and want to know their personal life's like stalkers. I think its an abuse to make money of a person's life. People go to far nowadays...
