Finishing a book

When you finish a book do you already have a book in mind that you want to read next or do you like to take time to digest what you've read? I usually have a stack of books ready and waiting, and when I finish one, I immediately select another to start reading.

If I really like the book that I've read I'm always a little bummed when I get to the end. lol If that's the case I usually wait to the next day to begin another book. If the book wasn't all that then I can usually pick up another book in seconds and begin another story again. So I guess it just depends on the quality of the book for me. :D

Me too! I get attached to characters sometimes, and then I get bummed that I don't know what they're up to after the book ends, lol at myself.

I had to forbid myself to read when I go to bed because I can stay up for another two hours past when I should already be asleep.

I usually go to t he library and pick out about 4 or 5 books to read at a time. So, once I am finished with one, I start another pretty quickly. I can't be without books for too long. I just love to read, and have since I was a small child.

sometimes rereading a book will give you a different feeling.

I keep a stack of books on my nightstand to be read. I always know what book I am going to read when I finish the current one. Most of the time I read at night, though, so if I finish one, I will usually not start the next one until the next night.

When I'm back at home, I've got a mountain (and I mean that literally) of books waiting to be read. When I moved overseas and had to pack all my books up, I had over 50 boxes! And close to half of those 50 boxes were from my unread pile. And that was after I donated a heap of books to the local op shop. I used to spend time on ebay bidding on bulk packages of books, which is how I ended up with so many. Now that I'm in China, with no English bookstores in sight, desperation has set in. I've turned to writing and discussion sites on the internet to fill in any spare time so that I don't go crazy.

I never like to be without a book to read. So when I finish one, I am ready to start another. Sometimes it takes me a while to decide among my stack of books which to read next.

I pretty much know what I'm going to be reading next as I get close to finishing a book. I usually finish reading books in the evening as that is when I do most of my reading, so I usually start the new book the next day. I don't like being without something to read for much longer than that.
