Do you prefer Sting as a solo artist or with the Police?

I am the only one among my friends who has about an equal number of CDs of Sting and Police. It just depends on my mood and I don't really equate the 2 styles. Most of my friends seem to be firmly Sting fans OR Police fans and "never the 'tween shall meet' lol. What about you?

The Police are a powerful band with such music and such passion. I don't really know or understand why they chose to disband but Sting has managed to make himself a constant beacon in the sea of musical uncertainty. He has remained consistent in the passion of his music.

I started with The Police then morphed to Sting's solo music. I agree that the two are different styles and different sounds. Sting by himself is more blues than rock (although he can still rock) and The Police collectively have a more classic sound. I like them both, and listen according to my mood of the day.

I like both. Sting does a lot of different styles as a solo artist I think. Some of it sounds a lot like The Police - some is very different.

I like what he did with the Police and his solo career pretty much evenly. I have noticed that some of the Police songs tend to sound as if he was doing solo work during that time though. At times they sound about the same.

I like just listening to the mucis not caring about who made it. I never talk about the singer when I talk about the music.
