tevez has not really add any bite to the attacking force of man u, though the league has just started. me i believe the guy is too slow for the kind of game man u usually play. look at rooney and ronaldo, even saha, they are always fast on the ball.

While Tevez hasn't been really effective for Man U in the EPL, he is reported to have contributed to Man U's 1-0 victory over AS Roma this morning in the Champions League. Having been beaten 7-1 by United last season, it seemed that Roma employed a defensive strategy this time, and United's players found it difficult to penetrate the crowded defence. Saha was trying to use pace to beat Roma's defenders but failed. Only after Ferguson changed tactical play and brought in Tevez for Saha did things improve. Suddenly, with patient approach akin to European teams' style of attack and interchanging play of Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney and Nani around the edge of Roma's box, more space was created leading to Rooney scoring the crucial goal. The partnership of Tevez-Rooney may prove to be useful for United's Champion League campaign involving European teams. Well, we shall see. For now, don't write Tevez off yet.

The reason new Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez is not performing is due to two reasons. One, the early season injury to Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo's suspension force Tevez to play as a lone striker upfront which I believe is not suitable for him due to his pace and physique. For example, there's no way Tevez could out-duel pacy defender such as Micah Richards playing alone without help. And after Rooney and Ronaldo back to the side, things improve a bit due to the similarity of style between Rooney and Tevez. Often we see both players in the midfield area picking up ball while there's nobody upfront in attack! But after a few matches playing together, they started to understand each other style and as proven in Wigan's game, there's rarely a time when both going for the same ball like in previous occassion. So my suggestion to United fans, be patient and you will see the reward. Let's see how young Arsenal cope with three world class attackers coming at them at will!

Hello there. I do think we need Tevez. He is no doubt a very good player. He helped Man U to open the scoring in the game against Wigan. All he needs is time to prove that he can fit into Man U and do well there. =D

tevez may not have performed to expectations in the recent times but is getting better by the day. rooney's injury earlier this season made things tougher for tevez. but he's on top of his game finally. also i personally feel tevez has been signed so that SAF can sell saha in the winter as he's the most unfit (physically) player in the team. we know what SAF can do when he gets frustrated.
