i asked myself what should i believe in. Its because science tells us that we came from apes and evidence from archeology reveals little by little by unearthing proves of this darwin theory of evolution. but when we talk about religion, they never said that we come from ape and we are creation of God. i think this is one of the topics in which science and religion has different opinions. there are no wrong answer here its only opinions and my opinion i side mor to the religion side but what about you? do you believe more on the religion side or the scientific side?

I believe in keeping an open mind. Science gives some explanations that I find reasonable and logical. Religion asks me to use blind faith to believe how it happened. Did we came from apes? I don't know but I have a question: why can't both theories work together? I mean, let's say god created the universe and created the first living organisms and then allowed them to evolve until man came ?

Well, I look at it this way: according to religion, the first people were Adam & Eve, right? And according to religion, Adam & Eve had 2 sons. So, where did the rest of us come from? I believe we descended from the apes. Some people haven't descended too far, either, lmao! (joke!)

Hello Joshboz, I do not see that the two are irreconcilable, nor mutually exclusive. Every few years, archeologists find new clues to man's development that serve to present more questions, than answers. The Darwinist's may sound fully confident when they argue against the theories of "Intelligent Design". Yet, they still cannot explain away the impetus for that single moment, when celestial ferocity initiated the eventual formation of ... us. I suspect that there's room for both theories. I have long held that The Creator Energy designed the human mind with curiosity, so as to inspire Mankind to seek out the mysteries of the Universe. As I see it, Science -- which very respectably wanders around in the darkness, seeking illumination, is none other than a system of tools and inspiration gifted by The Creator Energy to seek Our Source. Either way, I wouldn't advise losing sleep over this one. It's all a process. Or should I say, part of The Plan?

Oh, I see from your response to Arkaf61 that you do give more weight to a 'Divine Source' than the linear morphology from apes. Let's face it, whether by "Intelligent Design" or "Evolution", we developed from a limited number of elements. So, the theory of a 'fork in the road' of evolution is pretty logical. Personally, since I believe that every aspect of creation is an on-going process, that it's perfectly reasonable than we've developed through a process of origin that includes many forks. As far as I see it, pre-historic man is the origin of both man and ape. Our DNA so closely matches that of our hairer brethren, that there is little question that we are of the same origin. Perhaps this might help: David Pilbeam, an Englishman teaching anthropology at Yale, has shown that by ten million years ago there were two major groups of apes, the dryopithecines having apelike teeth, and the ramapithecines, having human-like teeth with reduced canines and a flatter face...." http://www.adelphiasophism.com/awwls/00/wls125.html

hi ladyluna, you have a good comment for both but im not sure which side do you agree more. but i guess you said its a process and even the two theories are connected. anyway, there no wrong answer so thanks for responding.yes it could be a plan but by whom? still, i tihnk if oyu analyze our source, i still find it very complex and that's why i rely more on what i believe in.good day.

yes my opinion is also on the side of religion no matter what evidence science has to offer.but then again, there are those who were convince by science and there is no wrong about that. i believe that god is my creator because as a christian you should.its not possible to call yourself a true christian when the mere fact you dont accept god as your creator. thanks for responding.

I deeply believe in the story of Creation. Since I was young, I've heard it told over and over again. I've thought it through and I guess I won't change my opinion on it. I think no one would admit that they resemble and ape, would you?

no because i also believe more on what you believe in. in religiion you really need a good faith to what oyu believe and that is what matters most.science have a lot of evidences to convince as.there is no wrong with that but it always up to you to choose whom do you believe in and i choose mine in the side of religion. its more than the physical aspect of an ape we are talking about and of course i am more handsome than the fienst male ape.hehehehe. try to read the other respondent comment here especially those who sided with science and try asking that if you want too. there are no wrong opinions here friend and thank you for your own opinion.

I genuinely believe that apes are our ancestors, there can be no two opinion about it. looking at apes and humans not only reinforces this belief of mine, but also shows that even after centuries of evolution we are still to overcome many of our simian features and practices. All religion glorifies God whom none of us has seen yet and indicate Man as His favourite child destined to rule this world. This is just a ploy, another excuse for mankind to carry on his atrocities against each other and other species of plants and animals.

Actually, I'm confused with this kind of belief. Before, I believe that humans came from Adam and Eve. Because that was what I've read from the bible and I even watched it many times in a movie. But when I was in elementary during our science class, our teacher told us that humans came from apes. That was according to the archeological studies. So I got confused which belief or theory should I follow or believe.

hi friend. your not the only one who is cofused about it. i also consider myself confused. i graduated from a science profession and somehow there are times that i was convinve that we came from apes but most of the time i believe in god and as a believer i also believe that i came from him becasue he is the almighty creator. i decided to believe in the religion answer rather than science offer.you really need a storng faith for this because eveidence is little but its always your decision to what you believe in. thakns for responding.

I don't believe we came from apes. I believe what the bible says, also that there has been cases where stories in the bible have been proven. I also heard somewhere that it states that we can be traced all the way back to Eve. Honestly we will never know until we die. Until then, I like to believe we didnt come from an animal.

i have the same opinion with oyu.although i watch national geographic channel a lot. i still find the answer of religion rather what science can give.its becasue my faith is stronger than what i can see to be too good to be true. but i also respect the answer of science and every respondent who also believe in it.in the first place, there are no wrong asnwers here.

I have to believe that man evolved from the apes. I have done reading and studying and researching and creationism is a nice simple way to say where man came from, but face it, life is not that simple.

okay thank you for your side i guess darwin have a strong point of evidences why we should believe in his theory but still i believe our life and source of existence is still complex and needs more years of analyzation and studying. thanks for responding.

Well most religions do actually say that their god or diety created humans. Christianity: And god created man, and took his rib and created woman. Im no religious person at all, Im atheist and I support fact, aka Im a scientific believer. The darwinian theory is so far the only one ive seen produce facts of finding and dont ask you to believe and bow down to something untangible. There are again abreviations in most religions. Some christians calls themselves scientific christians, and support the scientific finds. The thesis behind this is the translations in the bible not being correct. According to them the translation that god created everything in 7 days, should instead be, god created everything in 7 long moments/times or some such. Many other religions have their god either birth or a limb of themselves create humankind and others yet talk of their gods just beeing the "overseer" of things as they came around... but usually with humans as a main component and one of the first. Sadly most religions for me sound like they were created before man knew what was really going on, and thus in my eyes only have invalid and super old information to substain their claims. Its nice that ppl have something to believe in, I just dont :D

I am not an advocate of the Darwinian theory of evolution. The entire life on earth is still a mystery to be solved. The variety of species and innumerable patterns of behaviour holds little veracity in the Darwin Theory. Maybe I'm wrong in my conviction...yet I uphold it.

Well since I'm a lover of science and have actually studied anthropology, I naturally believe in the scientific explanation of how man evolved...there is actually a gap of some 3 million years between the Ramapithecus branch of primates and australopithecus which marks the first true branch of hominids of which we evolved from--I do find the science view the fascinating one...With few exceptions I don't think people take stock in the religious viewpoint of how man evolved
