Do you think that rape is considered a hate crime? The definition of a hate crime is "a crime, usually violent, motivated by prejudice or intolerance toward a member of a gender, racial, religious, or social group." So what do you think?

Yes I consider rape a hate crime because it is about power and hate. It is against weaker persons. Sme times it is about race too.

It can be and it neednot be. It depends on the status of the mind. Many a times, this heinious crime is committed not out of hate, but out of perverse desire.

I think some rapes could be classified as hate crimes but not all rapes occur because of prejudice or intolerance.

Yes and No. Obviously many rapes can fit into the definition of 'hate crime', but even those that don't are still acts of hatred and are unacceptable and vile. No-one who loves themselves or another, or understands respect can commit such an act.
