My hubby and I just love those Marie Calendar's chicken pot pies, and he asked me to find a great recipe so I could make us a big one. Those from the grocery store are delicious, but also exspensive. I am hoping someone on mylot will have an EASY, DELICIOUS tried and true recipe to pass down to me. I have tried the one on the Bisquick box and to be honest, I didn't like it. But maybe I need to doctor up the recipe, but I am hoping someone here on mylot has a good one that they have used and can highly recommend to me.

I have one for you applsofgld!! I buy a whole chicken, boil it, and pluck it off the bone. I buy the veggies, carrots, corn, peas and potatoes. Cream of mushroom, Cream of Celery and Cream of chicken with a wee bit of milk, not too much or else it will be too runny. Now I dont have an all around crust, but you can, I just use crescent rolls and cover the mixture up and cook it until the crecent rolls are browned. You can line your baking dish with the crecent rolls, and then ontop, but I usually dont. You can also use biscuits if you like that kind of crust, but I like crescent rolls much better. Ive used Turkey as well to make this dish, but never any beef, so if you like Chicken or Turky pot pie, you will love this! I hope they dont delete this, its not really a recipe right? lol If you need more information from me, just add me and then message me. Bay xx

Okay my husband is a HUGE fan of these, but like you said they are wayyy too expensive to go buying them all the time! This pie crust is the most important part of mine, it's amazing and i just love it!! But remember to follow the instructions because it can be easily messed up. 1 cup of butter or margerine 2 cup of flour 1 teaspoon of salt 2 tablespoons of vinegar 1/3 a cup of milk 1 egg cut the butter/margerine into the flour and salt like you would biskits and such *kinda make it look like oatmeal*, then in another bowel or container blend together the egg, milk and vinegar till it's really smooth and everything's totally combined, you might not need to use the whole liquid mixture so just start off with little amounts as you add it to the flour mixture, mixing slowly until it gets to the right consistency for anything from bread to pizza dough, just not as wet as those, get it ready, put out some flour, roll it out and then stick it in a pie container, then make a top for it as well, however you want it, you can do some pretty cool designs and such, that can be really awesome. After that just make stew, and the thicker the better, heat the crust in the oven for usually 10-15 minutes on about 350, pour your favorite stew in there (make sure it's got smaller chunks than it would normally have to serve it easier) add the top once it's in, stick it in the oven and after about 30-40 minutes depending on the way you want the crust it should be absolutely amazing!!!! If you want some stew recipes i make all of mine from scratch and i have to tell you, the guys just love it around here!!! so lemme know :) I swear you will never go wrong with this crust recipe, it's just absolutely amazing.
