i was just curious as to how many of you find it harder each day to respond to a discussion due to they all seem to be the same just worded differently or they are one sentence discussions questions and there is nothing to respond to or there is just nothing of interest to you? i know peopel like there earnings and they will post a discussion regardless of how interesting or long it is or even if it isnt even worth responding to. But they list regardless and our discussoin pages are loaded with questions like... " do you like whole skim or 2% milk better? " or "what color is your hair?" mylot isnt about answering one questoin is a DISCUSSION site. and i know that i dont post many discussions, but thats a ood thing, because i try not to post somthing unless it is actually worth posting.. something that i think will get resposnses that are actaully discussible... what about you ? Are you bored with the one liners? is it harder for you to find a discsussion as the weeks/ days go on?

I agree with you completely, I answered a few discussions today and then after that I went to the discussions with no replies page, and guess what, i see tons of discussions started making no sense at all, literally discussions starting like this "I am a boy". Well, its true and then i go on to see that lots of discussions making no sense have been started by the same author. I must admit I was on mylot a few months ago when my friend showed me the place and it was so much vibrant and better then, unfortuantely now that I have joined it I find it in a bad shape. But still, I feel that it hasnt really lost its charm, I shouldnt let a few stupid discussion bias my views against the entire community right ??? Oh and about those one liners I so agree with you, how can I type out a reply if the question can be answered in just 1 word !!

Hello beutfulmama6701.... You are absolutely right. I don't understand why people post things when they obviously don't understand the guidelines. Then they complain when things disappear and they have no idea why but they claim to know for a fact that there was nothing in them against mylot's policies. As you stated, this is a DISCUSSION forum, statements, stories, rants, complaints, even if there are hundreds of replies, are not discussions and will eventually be deleted. Tom

Some days I can't find a single interesting discussion. I guess there's alot of folks just out to make a buck, so they'll post any old thing, over and over. I've posted a fews discussions that I thought would be interesting, but I got very few responses. I've posted a few that got alot of responses. I usually don't post a discussion unless I feel like it would be interesting. I don't answer them unless I feel they have a little thought and substance put into them. But I'm not into it for the money, either. Thanks for your post...it was interesting I thought.

my thoughts exactly! I used to enjoy coming on here and reading peoples thought and responding to them and then when they asked for advice and i would try to give htem my input or vice versa.. now adays though its the interesting topics that get to the bototm of the page and the one liners that get to the top.... fine if its one line and its a serious question that you cant write a parageraph about, but then again a disucssion is more then one line.

I agree with you beutfulmama. With regard to your concern. Have you tried to your concern of lacking decent discussions. Have you tried creating a new discussion that you think decent enough so that people can follow? or reply to your post?

I'm new here, so I'm finding plenty to respond to at the moment. However, I do agree that there seem to be many 'discussions' that are really only require a single word or sentence reply, so they're not really discussions, but more like close ended questions. I guess that some people are using that type of format to get their posting levels up, and plenty of people seem happy to answer these posts. I personally prefer topics that actually require a thought provoking answer - something you actually think about before you respond. I think age, maturity and english levels also need to be taken into account though. There are many fairly young members here, as well as people who's native language isn't English. Hopefully people will continue to hunt out the discussion topics amongst the single answer topics to keep the place interesting.

It's the nature of the beast really. Over a long period of time you will come across repeat discussions. Most of the discussions here now are repeat discussions. It's no wonder you lose interest. If the sole reason a person gets on this site is to make money - the more posts the more cash then the more you can endure the mundaneness of the conversations - if you could call them that. If you actually spent quality time thinking of a good topic, and quality time researching your mind for a descent answer then this forum would be much more interesting. Once upon a time it was interesting and entertaining.

I agree with you... if the the discussion started is only a one liner... it is very difficult to response... while the others are too long but only copy pasted from a certain email or copied from a book...but i still try to answer discussions especially those started by my friends... I myself do not start a topic unless it is something interesting (in my opinion) that is why i rarely start a discussion...

Hi Beautifulmama6701, you are right about the innumerevol discussions being made only for the cent that one is earnings. But on the other side of the coin is 90% of my discussions that get but a few answers lately if even that. And I do make quality discussion, so tell me, are people blind? Or are people gone from here? And under people I mean - quality posters and responders obviously. I am considering to moove shortly if it keeps this way. As I am replying to every one's discussions, and but a few replying to mine, while in August I had so many people responding. TheFortunes

I was feeling this way the other day too but I still tried to handle some discussions other did. I also do a thorough search to see if there is anything interesting and I write about things that happens to me. People do make suggetions on them which helps me alot too.

of course with a money based site the discussions will be lame, however, i think that more people will respond to the more interesting/more indepth topics which will let the better ones rise to the top. OR...i could be way off base, tricky call. Either way, i just like to use this site to bounce some of my interesting ideas off of.
