how did you stop your children from thump sucking?

I don't really have any ideas on how you can get her to stop. Neither of my children had that issue. Have you asked her why she does it? Is it a security thing? I had a cousin who sucked her thumb till she was like 10. How they finally got her to quit was strange. She told her uncle that she would stop sucking her thumb when he quit smoking. He quit smoking ans she quit sucking her thumb.

My youngest daughter was a thumb sucker and I was afraid it would make her have buck teeth so I ask her doctor what I should do to stop her and he said the best thing for me and her was for me to ignore it. And it will not bother her teeth. Do not mention it to her nor give her any concerned looks. He said she would quit on her own and a lot faster if I did not take notice of it. Neither of my kids suck their thumbs, but I did when I was little. You may not want to do this, but since we were from the country that is what they did to stop us kids from sucking our thumbs. They would wait until we were sleep and then they would take our thumb out of our mouth and put hot sauce on it. I was the exact same age as she was when my grandma did that to me. I'm not telling you to actually try it, but it is just a mere suggestion.
