Stevia Plant is convertible to sugar and if I am not mistaken, it is 16 times sweeter than than the traditional sugar. Also it is claimed that this plant has medicinal values to diabetics and those with hypertension. What puzzles me is that according to what I have read, the United States is banning the commercialization of this plant in the US, why?

Maybe it'll destroy the sugar industry if stevia becomes commercialized. Same reason hydro powered cars hasn't taken off?

I use Stevia everyday in my coffee. It is a lot better than sugar and since I have started using it my digestive system works better. The government will ban anything that is not created in a lab to make them more money! That is why I believe that there is a cure out there for Cancer, probably something herbal, but the government won't use it because they will lose money.

I did not know the US banned the commercialization of Stevia in the US. My friend grows her own, otherwise it is expensive and you get so little. Here is some more information. http://www.stevia.net/growingstevia.htm
