Your blog(s): Business or Personal?

I've got 4 blogger blogs and one on: myspace, yuwie and apsense. My myspace blog was the only personal one really but since I've gotten so busy with everything else I do online... it's not been touched in ages. I kinda miss having a personal blog but I think it's better I not have one (for psycho ex reasons). The rest are mainly business with a slightly personal touch, those are all mainly about helping others to earn an income online and honest in depth reviews, advice, articles and things that touch the needs and lives of those who work from home. And one blog is all about empowering women to love their natural curves and sizes and find fashions that flatter. If you'd like to take a peak, check out my profile. Do you keep your blog(s) stickly business or personal? Do you mix the two?

Well, business blogs need that a bit of personal touch too I think. But you got to sell your business side with your personal touch - it always works! For me, I have one beauty one (you know that already). One with a friend (Exchange Diaries) and it's mostly about yelling at stuff that happened around us, I am having fun catching up with it. Another strictly personal one with Yuwie. I thought about the psycho ex reason but oh well, I don't care too much now, if he thinks he could ruin something I build, I will welcome him *laughs* (that might increase my pageviews as well). I think I mix the two up a bit from time to time but not blending business and personal together for sure.

Yes and great ones they are! I agree a personal touch does give it a little something more that really sells. As for the psycho ex, he used my myspace and a friend of mine on there to track me down and stalk me for a really long time without me finding out until the end. He's not a safe person and I moved to get away from him so I think for my own saftey I keep my other blogs more business and just leave the myspace one alone.

Right sounds really psycho to me and just as much as a psycho ex could be (mine is kind of similar too). Yes protect your own safety first. Internet is not really that safe when it comes to psycho people *laughs*.

LOL, wouldn't it be nice if there was some kind of software, like virus protection but from psychos instead? I bet it's only a matter of time before someone invents that, lol.

I have a personal/travel blog which I recently set up to record my time here in China, though I still haven't sent the link to any of my friends, so I'm just blogging to myself at the moment! I have a website that I've set up for my writing business, but I haven't included a blog on that - I don't feel that I've got the time to keep it updated at the moment.

You might want to send your friends that link, lol. A travel blog sounds like lots of fun!

Since I discovered blogging, I have been keeping a long list of blogsites that I found, and have hoped to regularly blog on. However, due to job constraints and other obligations, I am not able to blog everywhere that I would like to. So, I have narrowed my list to Wordpress, Blogger, Myspace, Activerain, Wannanetwork, Clearblogs, my Go Daddy blog, and now, MyLot. I only wish I had more time for blogging, and I may have to narrow my list down even further, but I will definitely keep Wordpress, MyLot, and Blogger. I blog mostly for my real estate business, but I also use the medium to discuss my interests as well. I can't just be objective when I am blogging.

I have only one blog now and I keep it personal. I have no intention of making it business...yet he he he... I LOVE blogging about my personal thoughts and experiences 'coz my blogging friends can encourage me, discuss my ideas, enlighten me, etc. Talking to my blogging friends via my posts is VERY therapeutic for me. I intend of keeping this personal blog for as long as I live. ;-D

I have a few blogs, too. :) But I don't have as many as you do. :) I am a fairly private person and I almost never discuss anything personal on my blogs. I am an artist and mostly discuss my artwork and experiences related to making art. I also discuss things that inspire me to make art. :) I am curious about what other people have to say about their blogs. :)

I can totally understand wanting to be more private, I'm learning to do that myself now. The blog of an artist, now that's got to be interesting.

My Blogger is a mix of both personal and business. I discuss Indie punk music, hold contests, do interviews, but don'tgain money from i except through a small t-shirt shop. On Myspace, it's strictly personal. That is where I do my rants, get pissed, and let my feelings go.

Both my blogs are on the personal side of things. One functions like an online diary, the other a repository of fan fictions and original stories that I write.

I have a personal blog on myspace... just random thoughts, a memorial, and some hard-to-find music. I only write every few months because I'm not sure anyone goes there. Its more like 'thought storage' for me. My sis, on the other hand, uses her blog to inform the family about her hubby's progress in his fight against multiple myeloma... he has had an experimental proceedure that promises hope for many in the future, and is doing well!

I did the same with my myspace blog, it helped to keep things clear. That's pretty cool about your sister's blog, I hope all goes well for her husband.

Wow that is great to hear. How sweet, it's not everyday you find someone you're willing to marry twice, lol.

He's gaining weight and his hair is back, pretty good for someone who was given 6 months to live a year ago! They are going to renew their marriage vows on the 20th... its going to be a huge party! This situation has given so many in the family a huge boost toward being more loving and appreciative of each other.

I blog for business, but I want to do a personal blog too. The difference is that in the personal blog you should write everyday something, and thats something that everybody cant do for time or other reasons...In the business blog you can blog everyday or post 3 ~ 5 posts per week to keep your readers coming back.

I am thinking about mixing the 2. I want to blog about life, money, and anything else I can think of. I read a lot of gossip mags. I think that by including that gossip in my blog, I might possibly get a little more traffic. What do you think?
