What is exactly there in blood relationships, I wonder! My father's cousin brother never get along well with his mother or with anyone else for that matter. The mother had disowned him since a long time now and the man in question has been living life in his own terms since his teens. He is heartless, callous, cruel and devoid of normal human attributes. He is the kind who would resort to bad means even when he doesn't need to. He is a BAD mind personified, no doubts. Of late, he is in bad shape, physically and financially. My father, who underwent his cousin's mental and physical torture time and again and never could come of the trauma, is planning to help him with money and emotional support. And guess what, he would go all the way to embalm him! Well, I am not a cadaver as far as humanity is concerned but this is sheer self inflicted torture! Does blood speak so loud? Is is blind? Do you have any explanation as to this?

I think people now a days have respecting blood relations. For most of them physical needs, material needs and money is more important than any blood relative. To gather money and to fulfill their material needs, some would go to any extent. They would exploit their innocent brothern and sisters to come to their rescue. They would show that they need your assistance and without that they would be in deep trouble. Some of us are good human beings and we get trapped into their juggelary and deceiving behaviour.

You are so right, Deepak. Human emotions and attributes are diminishing due to rat race. But, we all have to go to grave with the single piece of cloth we wear! Thanks for a thoughtful response.

I feel that we should feel contended with what we have, instead of be a part of the rat race. Thanks for your encourging comments.:):)

That is a very good discussion mimpy because people always live in false beliefs and think it is a taboo and will set a bad example to talk ill about the blood relations. No .It is not.I have seen many bad mothers, bad fathers, bad siblings and so on.As far as I am concerned some strangers are as good as how the blood relatives are supposed to be, to me. We have a habit of sweet coating everything.

yES BALA, Same with me. I am really blessed to have some wonderful in-blood relationships. Some are as good as real siblings and parents. On the contary, I have seen some worst of blood relationships which resulted in betrayal and emotional killings. It's hard to see your loved ones cry.

Don't get me wrong,I strongly believe at family and the blood relations but I also believe there is a end for everything. We must try help as much we can the member of our family(I see everyone with blood relation as family)but we must know when the end comes. They are people cruel and heartless, people just use others and never will change, and YES one of them can be in our family too.By being blood and helping him even we know what gonna be at the end is not the right thing not even for him . Sad but true !!!

I can never really tell, but I guess conscience is what's making your father go all out and help his cousin. The way I see it, I guess he thinks that since the cousin is living his last days, it will be such a shame not to extend a helping hand. Although I can just imagine how this must feel for you since you've seen how this relative treated your family, I guess there is really no sound explanation to it.

Mari, may be that's true. But he is not dying, quite young actually. I guess, just feigning the health thing.

Your father is really good hearted to help the man in question. Though he does not deserve any help but one may think of helping him with intention of helping a man in general without looking to his past deeds. One point of view may be--if we can help the man on the street , then why not our own relative. His karmas will be with him & my karma with me.
