Do you always look at the expiration date of the food you buy??

Foodstuffs - This is an example of foods that you can buy in a grocery store.

I admit sometimes I forgot to look at the expiration date of the food that I buy, for example canned goods, instant foods, and other foodstuffs. When I am in the grocery store, I usually get whatever I want to buy and no longer look at the expiration date, especially when I am in a hurry. I know it is necessary to look at the expiration date always even though it came from a recognized grocery store. Our health is much important above all. That is why I am practicing now to be alert and vigilant when buying some foodstuffs from the grocery store or even to other stores as well. How about you? Do you always look at the expiration date of the food you buy?

Hi sreejithsreenivas.. Yes, you're absolutely right. It is our own duties and responsibilities to watch the expiration date of the food we purchased. Unfortunately, sometimes I am careless enough to look at it. I want to correct my actions right now. Thanks for sharing your experience! Have a great day ahead of you!

look that is the first thing I do when I am buying anything. If it is tinned foods I examine the tin very carefully and sometimes I think they get annoyed with me because if it has a dent or rust I dont want it.

Yes, you're right! Tinned foods are very susceptible to rust and corrosion! These products should not be sold out in the market or grocery stores as the people would likely be contaminated by the poison of its container. Thanks my friend for your time to share your opinions! Have a nice day and God speed!

In my case, I always look at the expiration date of every food and beverage I am about to purchase. I really take time to make it a point to know when it is going to expire. Of course, our health matters the most, and I advice you to be careful with purchasing goods and make sure to see its expiration date the next time you avail items in a store.

That's great! With that, you can avoid upset stomach. ^_^ Better look after the expiration dates, so you won't regret in the end for having eaten expired goods, and your money won't be wasted. Good day my friend! Take care!

it is necessary to always check the expiration date because if you can't you actually make your self foolish 1st you spend money and you doesnt get the privileges to enjoy the product you buy and you make your self in danger by eating them not knowing that food was expired..always be cautious and smarter.

I am guilty of that too... i always think that grocery stores would not sell expired stuff... but then... we really do not know... right now... i try to always look at the expiration date especially if the food or drink is for my daughter...i think there should be a law that would penalize stores if they are found selling expired goods...

Hi friend. Yes, you're right. If I am not mistaken, there is already a law in this regard, wherein it is forbidden to sell some foods, drinks, medicines, etc., that exceed or go beyond the elapse period of these products. Unfortunately, our government does not put more attention about it that is why some of these vendors are able to sell some expired products. Hope this would not happen constantly. Have a blessed day to you always!!

hi there. Yes, I always check for the expiration date. And not only that, if I have to buy canned foods, I check it very carefully for any dents or rusts. I suffered from food poisoning already from fresh tofu. And I checked its expiration date before buying it, but still... You're very right that our health is much more important than trying to make haste with our grocery shopping. It will rob us a moment or two by checking out the dates and the way the item was packaged, but it will definitely save us the trouble from being rushed to the hospital for food poisoning.

Hi jcj_111776, that is true and I agree from what you've said. If you're consistently checking the expiration date whatever food products you buy from a store, this will save you from being admitted to the hospital. Thanks for sharing your great ideas. I really appreciate your post. Have a nice day and God speed!

No, I don't.I guess for nothing, i don't know why, but I just don't think about it.But at least my man think about this, specialy last time he was buying milk and it was two days after expiration and the cashier alredy charge it and don't wanted him to give him money back, since all those milk they had were already old.So he started fighting with her and just give him money back, but she put that old milk back to the refrigerator. So I guess somebody else who doesn't look like me buy it and bring it home.

Yes, everything I do whether be it a food or medicines, i always look at it's expiration date. I am so concious about it because my kids are still young. Expired food or medicines might harm them. So I make it sure they what they take are either fresh or still can be consume. I'd rather be a "neurotic" about it than suffer afterwards.

It depends on what I'm buying. I don't check everything but with things like Milk I make sure to check. A habit of mine I have when shopping is that I never take the first one. I'll grab the third or fourth one in the back rather than the one that's right in front of me. Not sure why I do this other than picking it up from my mom who does the same.

This is a good habit to have, my mum always taught me from a young age to check everything to make sure it had a good life expiry date and nothing was out of date, and many times she has found products which shouldn't be on the shelf for consumption. So the lesson has carried on through me and whenever I go shopping I make sure I get the latest possible date on anything I buy and it's the freshest possible. You can never be too careful nowadays. No risks should be taken when it comes to food.
