I remember books that I was assigned to read in high school. Some I wasn't particularly interested in, but some still make an impact on me today. There were a few books that we read that have been read in high school for years because they are classics that have stood the test of time, but occasionally a teacher picks more recent selections.
If you are currently a high school student, a parent or older sibling of a high school student, or graduated within the last four or five years, what are you being/were you assigned to read in your English and Literature classes?

We have different levels of books depending what level of English you are taking. Some of out kids will be reading To Kill A Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, Life of Pi, The Pearl and of course Shakespearean works. The books get changed depending on who is teaching the particular course too.
