I heard a good one a few years ago, an elderly lady was asked her age and she retorted, " As old as my tongue but a little bit older than my teeth " I thought that was a really good answer, in other words don't ask LOL. What do you say when someone asks your age???

Actually, I tell them. I'm 39 years old. I plan to age gracefully and getting older is simply a part of life. I look at it as an accomplishment that I've made it though 39 years on this earth. Considering how things are going, I'm going to be really proud to make it another 20 or 40. LOL **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I think I look darn good for 60! - my photo
That lady had a great answer I'll have to remember it. It sure applies to me. I'm 60 years old and don't mind telling anyone. I have a girlfriend who is actually younger than I am and lies about her age and I don't get it.

Hi Jan. Well, if I was asked about my age, I will say,"What do you think?". Haha. Anyway up to present, no one able to give me to correct answer, maybe I am just being too childish. Haha.

In usually tell them the truth... 49 years. It doesn't bother me when people ask my age, unless I detect underlying motives.

I usually just tell people my real age. Most people think I am younger than my actual age of 32. Of course, I don't know for certain if that is a compliment to youthful looks, or a criticism to immature behavior! :-)

Well normally they ask my age and someone else either tells them or guess if they dont know. Last time I was asked this was at legoland. None knew my age. But a friend was like when the lead asked why i didnt drive yet, how old are you? I let them guess i was 20. Most think I am way young. 20 sounded good. In real life, I'm almost 28! I shock people. I knew a guy at another job when I told him at the time I was like 26 he was like "I thought you might be 22 or 23!" yeah I got a baby face. So if they ask really ask of course i tell them. i'm younger enough to be proud.

Well, no one ever does really, but if they'll ask I dont have troubles with saying it :) 43 right now and on my way to 44 over 11 months or so :) But I hate getting older and would love to stop the aging, and all the unpleasant things that go with it, so trust me - if I could - I would :) TheFortunes

Hm, when someone asks me my age I just tell them. "I'm 22" I feel that age brings wisdom and the older you are the wiser you are. I don't feel the need to hide my true age no matter how old I happen to be now or later. I was brought up with my mother saying "Age is just a number... you shouldn't let it limit you or bring you down. Be proud of yourself no matter what your age happens to be and don't let age stop you!" I know I'm not up there in age, but still even as I age, I don't think I'll be ashamed to answer the dreaded "How old are you?" My friend, who's the same age as me, when asked how old she is she says "21+ (twenty-one plus)" and I can't help but laugh at how silly it makes her sound, hehe.

I am 24 years old and I am proud of it. I think that noone should be shy for his age. You are what you feel you are, not your age :)

i think I'm comfortable saying my true age. im 24. but then recently, i started saying im 22 or even 20... it's because I love the feeling I had in high school when they say you look tall for your age. now i really look my age it sucks haha!

i asked them back 'what do you think..guess'.. then they'll tell a number ten yrs my real age!! hahaha that's kind of amusing and fascinating..well, i thank them for that..and i thank my genes for that too..i dont really look my age..they always thought that i was younger...people who doesnt know me really make that mistake..most often than not.. ^_^ when i was already working, a taxi driver mistook me for a student..when i go to movies that are usually Rated R, they took me for a high school stude..hmmm..i've no problem with it really..it makes me happy that i dont look old..i usually make it a point to always smile away..hehehe

My Mom always use to say that. I never figured it out until a few years ago. She had false teeth so of course she was older than her teeth. I teach English to kids here in Japan and one question/answer is "How old are you?" and because I want the kids to be able to ask as well as answer we go round the class. For the younger kids I make up some crazy number, like 244 years old, it is one way of teaching larger numbers. For older kids I always say I'm 20 something. In a class I had a few weeks ago I told the kids I was 21. One girl went very quiet for a few minuets, then started shouting that I couldn't be 21 because my oldest son is 15. They then had great fun trying to guess my age. I have a hard time with the Japanese because until they know your age they don't know how to talk to you. If you are talking to a senior person you use a different level of politness. This information is usually understood by asking certain questions, such as when did you finish high school, never asking for age out right. Also Japanese tend to age very slowly, I have met some women in their 60s who could pass for upper 40s. Very annoying because I look a lot a older than I am.

how old are you? that's a real question people like to ask me. when i told them my age, they were always amazing? you know why? because i look like a child, but in fact is 25 years old, people just cannt believe it. so i tell them just to shock them. i think even when i am 30 years old, i still look like less than 20.
