McAfee's newest update is killing me!!!!!

Yesterday McAfee had an update that has now made it impossible to use Eudora to check my e-mail. I can use my web browser and check each one individually, or I can use Outlook (ACK!!) and it's hit-or-miss. I had installed my hand-held software yesterday also, so I thought that had something to do with it. I spent almost all day today trying to "fix" it before I finally found a forum that told me MANY people were having the same problem with other e-mail clients also. McAfee has nothing on their site about it, but many people said when they talked with tech support they were told to disable the e-mail scanning and that would solve the problem. Now, why would I want to disable my virus scan on my e-mail??? It's so frustrating!! This is the first problem I've had with McAfee in about the 15 years I've been using it.
I hope they get a fix for it soon, although I did hear that there's a patch out for it - of course you can't get it unless you can get with someone on tech support (I kept getting "all available personel are busy helping other customers" so I just went and fixed dinner.... If you know of another way to get aroung this - other than a different e-mail or virus program, I'm all eyes!!
