I have tried norton 2007 but it really damaged my RAM. It took a lot of the RAM memory for its functioning and hence all my other processes became very slow. Thats why i am using AVG now. It really performs better than norton. It identifies all the viruses clearly and also takes less memory of the RAM when compared to other anti virus tools. Even a anti virus tool named AVAST is on its blow. It is light application and finds viruses very efficiently.

Yes buddy you are absolutely right.Norton reduces the machine speed as it takes lot of RAM memory. You can try AVG.This is just enough .Thanks for responding.

I have Antivir and AVG as a check and balance. Both are good at detections. Plus Raj, you have to upgrade AVG to 7.5 if you are still gonna use it. You always need to look out for updates for anti-virus, thats part of the problem. Also get a firewall if you keep getting problems with trojans and watch where you go online and what you download. Norton is pretty bloaty but I guess its better than nothing.

There is no straight answer to this question. It is one of those things you come across in life. However, you could cut down the number viruses and trojans by taking precautionary steps. On of the main things to do is to scan your usb pen drives or floppy disk everytime if have used it on other computers. The other thing to do is delete emails that you do not recognise. A lot viruses a spread through emails. Increase the level of filtering on your emails. best of luck.

I use norton Antivirus 2006, and I can find trojan.horse. Just keep your antivirus updated, at least once a week. I have found 1 variant of trojant ( I forget the name), that is undetected even if you are using Norton Antivirus 2008, but it can be detected with Norton 2006 with updated virus definition (30 September)
