The permissible alcohol limit for driving under the India law is one of the lowest in the world.Blood alcohol content (BAC) or blood alcohol concentration is the level of alcohol in blood. It is measured as a percentage of mass, by mass per volume, or a combination. The limit is 30 mg in India and China; 50 mg in France Germany, Italy, Israel, TUrkey; and 80 mg in USA, UK, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand.
Mumbai's Police Commissioner says, "Western countries may have their own reasoning for permitting greater alcohol limits for drivers but the law, as it stands in India, is serving us well". I agree with him. Indian drivers with even 30 mg in their blood are killing people on the roads and pavements. If this limit is raised then onlt God will save people using raods and pavements.
