October 8th, My Daughter Celisa's 29th Birthday!

October 8th is the birthday of my first born, Celisa. She was born on October 8, 1978. A few months before her birth we were thinking of names for the child that I carried. If it was a boy, he would be named after his father, Mark. If it was a girl, she would be named Rachael. A few weeks passed and after second thoughts about the name Rachael, my husband said that because there were several Rachaels in the family we should choose another name for the baby should it be a girl. My best friend and I shared many years together. We met when I was 15 and she was 14. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding. I asked my husband what he thought of naming the baby after my friend. He said it was a nice name for a girl. We then talked about the middle name. If it was a boy, it would have his middle name, Joseph. If it was a girl, she would have my middle name, Ann. I called my friend to ask her if she would mind if I gave the baby her name. I also told her that I thought to use Selisa as the spelling. She told me that she would love it if the baby had her name, but the spelling should be Celisa. On October 8th, 1978, Celisa came into the world. She weighed 6 lbs 3 1/2 ozs. Her father and my mother were present to welcome her into the world. For her first birthday I invited family and friends over for cake and ice cream. My friend Celisa was not able to attend the party. She had gone into labor for her second child. Rhonda, her first born was able to attend. Christoper was born later that evening. Happy 29th Birthday Celisa, my daughter and my friend. In my heart you will always be forever young.
