Okay I need everyone on mylot's help. I have this flowering plant in my yard and I have no clue what it's called. My mother-in-law gave it to me but I don't know what it is. It looks like grass when it has no flowers but then it gets these beautiful pink flowers on it through out the year. Take a look at the picture I have included and see if you can tell me what kind of flower this is. I would really like to know.

This is a serious discussion and I would really like to know what kind of flower this is. So next time actually read the discussion instead of just responding with lame responses like yours. Unlike some people who are only here to make money on mylot there are some of us that are here to make friends and get advice.

Yeah the person before you said the same thing. At least know I have some idea of what to look for when I go searching the internet. Thank you for your help.

I am not a flower expert but to me it looks like some type of lily. I couldn't guess the variety because there are so many beautiful ones! Whatever it is, it is beautiful!

I just stumbled onto this discussion. That, my dear, is a daylilly. There are lots of varieties and families of those, some even have names, like "Stella de Oro." Easy enough to take care of, like water and sun. Can be dug up and separated in the early spring to have more clumps...does yours have seed pods on it after the flowers die off, or does the bloom heads just fall off? Some of mine fall off, but I have a lovely peach colored one that makes seeds. I would post a picture, but I had a drive failure a few days ago and cannot get to my pictures at the moment. I hope this helps you, daylillies are lovely flowers and very rewarding. Have a wonderful day!
