effects of alcohol during pregnancy

I have a friend and she's so worried because before she found out that she was pregnant she took an alcoholic drink. this happens during her first trimester. What are the chances that this drink she have taken will affect the baby? Is there anyone who experience this kind of situation?

The chances of this drink having any effect on the pregnancy is very low. If she continued to drink during the pregnancy, obviously that would be harmful.

My sister had a drink during her first trimester and she did not find out she was pregnant until she started to miscarry at three weeks along. The baby survived and is doing just fine. She will be twenty years old next month. She is extremely bright. Her son is the one pictured on my avatar.

I would say that one or two drinks would not harm that baby, but if she were to continue to drink then she has a greater risk of harming the baby.

My idea, better she get the right and appropriate medical advice and treatment. Because it involve another life that should counts on prime care. Experience from others definitely a total difference from one to another.
